Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE a good car?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE earns an expert rating of 7.2/10 and is positioned as a premium two-door that replaces both the C-Class and E-Class coupes and convertibles with strong results.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It is described as sized just right, with the comfort, technology, and refinement expected of Mercedes-Benz, and it also comes across as comfortable, easy to use, and fun to drive. The main trade-off is that it is not as sporty as some BMW or Audi alternatives, and the cabin prioritizes luxury over outright performance. Another drawback is limited cargo space, so you are buying into style and everyday usability rather than maximum practicality.

Good and great deals: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE reliable?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE is presented as a well-executed new Mercedes coupe with the comfort, technology, and refinement you would expect from the brand.

Its powertrains are described as smooth and quiet, and the suspension is said to erase bumps while staying composed in corners. The expert notes also point to a cabin and feature set that operate cleanly in daily use, with no false alarms encountered during testing. On the ownership side, the CLE’s premium positioning means you should expect higher long-term repair and upkeep exposure than you would with a simpler mainstream coupe.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s condition matches the listing photos and description. Pay close attention to wear on the interior, since the CLE is a luxury coupe where cabin presentation matters as much as mechanical condition. If you are considering a Cabriolet, inspect the top mechanism and seals carefully.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CLE is available as either a coupe or Cabriolet, and the AMG CLE 53 variant adds a more aggressive look with a widened stance and wider fender flares. The base model is the most comfort-focused, while the AMG version is the one for buyers who want the racier appearance and stronger performance character.
• Powertrain: The CLE 300 4Matic uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, while the CLE 450 4Matic upgrades to a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. The AMG CLE 53 sits at the top with even more output and a driver-actuated overboost function.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, parking proximity sensors, a blind-spot monitor, a semi-automated parking system, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. Adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, cross-traffic collision alert, evasive steering assist, a surround-view camera system, an integrated dashcam, and a low-level automated highway driving system are available.
• Infotainment: The CLE uses an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Augmented reality overlays are available, and the system also supports voice control through Mercedes’ “Hey Mercedes” interface.
• Fuel efficiency: The CLE 300 4Matic is rated at 23 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE is offered in 3 trim levels: CLE 300 4Matic, CLE 450 4Matic, AMG CLE 53.

Here's the short version:

• CLE 300 4Matic: This is the best-value choice if you want the CLE’s core luxury, smoothness, and standard all-wheel drive without paying for extra power you may not need. It still gives you the refined cabin, strong tech, and easygoing character that define the model.
• CLE 450 4Matic: This is the sweet spot if you want the CLE to feel more effortless. The inline-six is smoother and stronger than the base engine, and the expert notes say it is the preferred pick if you can stretch for it.
• AMG CLE 53: Choose this if you want the most aggressive version of the CLE and are willing to give up some comfort for more performance and a louder, edgier personality.

Standard safety equipment is comprehensive, while the more advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE?

The market looks moderately favorable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 434 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $55,956, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE's resale value?

The current average of $55,956 sits slightly below last year's $58,286.

That softer pricing suggests the CLE has already moved into a more buyer-friendly part of its depreciation curve. If you buy now and keep the car in strong condition, you may be starting from a more realistic entry point than shoppers did a year ago. For a future seller, that means resale will likely depend heavily on trim, mileage, and condition rather than on broad market momentum alone.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard advanced safety features include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, parking proximity sensors, a blind-spot monitor, a semi-automated parking system, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. Available upgrades include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, cross-traffic collision alert, evasive steering assist, a surround-view camera system, an integrated dashcam, and a low-level automated highway driving system. The expert notes also say the systems operated as expected during testing, with no false alarms.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.00% compared with last year.
• It delivers a fresh replacement for both the C-Class and E-Class coupes and convertibles with strong results.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $63,397, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $55,956 average.
• It adds three distinct trims and a more clearly defined open-top weekend-cruiser appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model-year alternative with a broader trim spread, the 2025 is worth a look.
