Used 2024 Lucid Air for Sale nearSanta Clarita, CA

Is the 2024 Lucid Air a good car?

The 2024 Lucid Air earns an expert rating of 7.83/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

That score lines up with the car’s core appeal: it’s presented as a complete luxury sedan rather than a compromise EV, and it pairs that upscale feel with exceptional range and genuinely serious speed. The Air is also described as stylish and fun to drive, which matters if you want an electric sedan that feels special beyond its efficiency.

The trade-offs are real, though. The Sapphire trim’s interior disappoints, and the controls for basic features are unintuitive.

If you want an EV that can serve as a true luxury sedan and still deliver standout range, the 2024 Air makes a strong case for itself. Good and great deals account for 40.0% of listings, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Lucid Air reliable?

The 2024 Lucid Air is framed as a mature, well-developed EV with a decade and a half of engineering behind it, and the expert review says the software issues seen earlier appear to have been resolved. The displays were quick and responsive across the tested cars, and the lane-departure warning system was updated so it no longer fights the driver as it once did.

The performance hardware also sounds robust: the car’s suspension is praised for soaking up rough pavement, the braking regen is adjustable, and the chassis and steering are described as exceptionally composed. Lucid’s own system is also presented as polished enough that wireless Apple CarPlay worked flawlessly, while Android Auto was planned for an over-the-air update later in 2024.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is less about outright mechanical fragility and more about whether the car’s software, controls, and charging habits have been well maintained and kept current.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lucid Air?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a high-tech EV where software, charging behavior, and trim-specific equipment can vary a lot. Focus on whether the car’s features work as intended, whether the cabin controls feel intuitive to you, and whether the battery and charging system have been used in a way that matches your ownership plans.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level Pure skips the Glass Canopy, while the Sapphire has its own exclusive look and omits that option entirely. The cabin is praised for its materials and fitment, but the Sapphire’s interior is called out as disappointing.
• Powertrain: The Pure is rear-wheel drive with a single motor, while the Touring is dual-motor all-wheel drive. The Sapphire uses three electric motors and is tuned for extreme performance, with the review noting its 1234-horsepower output and very quick acceleration.
• Safety package: DreamDrive is standard and includes forward and rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, auto high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. DreamDrive Pro is a semi-automated highway assist, but it is not approved for hands-free use.
• Infotainment: The car uses a 34-inch curved housing with three separate 5K displays. Wireless Apple CarPlay works well, and Android Auto was planned to arrive through an over-the-air update later in 2024.
• Range & charging: The Air uses a 300-kW DC fast-charging setup from a 900-volt architecture, and home charging can reach up to 19.2 kW. The Pure is cited at 410 miles of range with a 92-kWh battery pack, the Touring at 411 miles with a 92-kWh battery pack, and the Grand Touring at up to 516 miles with a 112-kWh battery pack.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, you should ask how the battery has been charged, whether the car has spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging, and whether the battery still has meaningful warranty coverage left. A battery state-of-health check is worth prioritizing before you buy.

Which 2024 Lucid Air trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lucid Air is offered in 4 trim levels: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, Sapphire.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the best-value choice if you want the lowest entry price without giving up the Air’s core strengths. It’s rear-wheel drive, and the review calls it the best bet in specs for the price with 430 horsepower, a 410-mile range, and 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
• Touring: This is the step-up pick if you want more power and all-wheel drive. It brings 620 hp and a 411-mile range, so it’s the trim to consider if you want stronger acceleration without jumping to the expensive upper end.
• Grand Touring: This is the range-focused long-haul choice. With the smallest 19-inch wheels, it can approach the claimed 516-mile EPA range, making it the trim to target if maximum distance matters most.
• Sapphire: This is the extreme-performance halo model. It’s a quarter-million-dollar engineering flex with three motors, 1234 horsepower, and the most dramatic acceleration and handling in the lineup, but it also comes with compromises like the missing Glass Canopy and a disappointing interior.

DreamDrive is standard, and DreamDrive Pro is available as a more advanced highway-assist system, though it is not hands-free.

Should I buy a 2024 against nearby model years?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The 2024 brings drastic price cuts, and the new Sapphire trim pushes performance to an extreme level.

Consider the 2023 if:

• It offers a strong first-effort luxury EV feel with stylish design, spaciousness, and impressive range.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of range, performance, and luxury-car polish, the 2024 is the better target. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2023 can still make sense as a more affordable way into the Air’s core strengths.
