Used 2024 Lucid Air for Sale nearCharlotte, NC

Is the 2024 Lucid Air a good car?

The 2024 Lucid Air earns an expert rating of 7.83/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

It’s presented as an electric luxury sedan that pairs exceptional range with a distinctly upscale feel, and it’s described as a complete luxury sedan from top to bottom rather than a compromise built around batteries. The Air is also framed as stylish and fun to drive, which helps it stand out if you want an EV that still feels like a traditional premium flagship.

The trade-offs are that the Sapphire trim’s interior disappoints and the controls for basic features are unintuitive.

With 45.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Lucid Air reliable?

The 2024 Lucid Air is described as a more mature effort than an early startup product, with updated software that appears to have resolved earlier bugs and displays that were quick and responsive in testing.

Its performance hardware is presented as robust, with the Air’s suspension, steering, braking regeneration, and charging architecture all described in confident terms. The car also benefits from OTA updates, including an updated lane-departure warning system that no longer fights the driver as it once did.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the software, charging behavior, and high-voltage battery condition have been well cared for over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lucid Air?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury EV with advanced software and high-voltage hardware. Focus on how the car has been charged, whether the displays and driver-assistance features work properly, and whether the cabin controls feel consistent and intuitive in daily use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level Pure is rear-wheel drive and leaves out the Glass Canopy, while higher trims add more power, range, or luxury equipment. The Sapphire is the extreme performance model, but its interior is a known weak point.
• Powertrain: The Pure uses a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup, while the Touring is dual-motor all-wheel drive. The Sapphire uses three electric motors and is tuned for extreme acceleration and handling.
• Safety package: DreamDrive is standard and includes forward and rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, auto high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. DreamDrive Pro is a semi-automated highway assist, but it isn’t approved for hands-free use.
• Infotainment: A 34-inch curved housing with three separate 5K displays is standard, wireless Apple CarPlay works, and Android Auto is slated to arrive through an OTA update later in 2024.
• Range & charging: The Pure is rated at 410 miles, the Touring at 411 miles, and the Grand Touring can approach 516 miles with the smallest wheels. The battery pack is 92 kWh in the Pure and Touring, 112 kWh in the Grand Touring and Sapphire, and the car supports 300-kW DC fast charging.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you want to confirm battery state-of-health, review charging habits, and make sure the car has spent most of its life on sensible home charging rather than repeated hard DC fast charging. Also check how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have.

Which 2024 Lucid Air trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lucid Air is offered in 4 trim levels: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, Sapphire.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the best-value choice if you want the lowest entry price and strong range, since it’s the single-motor rear-wheel-drive model with 410 miles of range and 430 horsepower. It’s the trim to target if you want the core Lucid experience without paying for extra speed or luxury extras.
• Touring: This is the smart step-up if you want all-wheel drive and more power, with 620 horsepower and a 411-mile range. It adds performance and traction without jumping to the expensive upper end of the lineup.
• Grand Touring: This is the long-range pick, and it’s the one to consider if maximum distance matters most. With the smallest wheels, it can approach the claimed 516-mile range, making it the strongest choice for buyers who want the most reserve.
• Sapphire: This is the halo model if you want the wildest performance, with 1,234 horsepower and three motors. It’s an engineering showcase, but the interior disappointment makes it harder to recommend unless you specifically want the extreme version.

DreamDrive is standard, and DreamDrive Pro is available as a more advanced highway-assist system.

Should I buy a 2024 Lucid Air or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 45.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• It adds a new Sapphire trim and brings drastic price cuts to much of the lineup.

Consider the 2023 if:

• It offers a strong first-effort luxury EV feel with stylish design and impressive range.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of range, style, and performance, the 2024 is the better target. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2023 can still make sense as a lower-cost entry into the Air lineup, but you should be especially careful about condition and software behavior.
