Used 2024 Lexus RX for Sale nearNew Orleans, LA

How much does the 2024 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 6.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,901 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The RX is built around comfort, luxury, and fuel efficiency, so it makes the most sense if you want a premium family crossover that prioritizes a quiet cabin and a relaxed ride. It is less compelling if you want the most engaging drive, and its styling may not appeal to everyone.

The expert notes also point to a few trade-offs: performance is fairly pedestrian, and some interior materials can feel cheap for a luxury-branded SUV.

With 38.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX is presented as a refined, comfort-first luxury crossover, and the expert summary emphasizes its appeal for buyers who value reliability, refinement, and safety. Its strong fuel economy and calm driving character also support the case for easy day-to-day ownership.

The performance notes suggest the RX 350 and RX 350h can feel underpowered, while the plug-in hybrid is more responsive but still not especially potent-feeling compared with rivals. That means your long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about whether the RX’s relaxed personality matches your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lexus RX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on cabin condition, feature operation, and whether the vehicle’s equipment level matches what you expect for the price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX lineup includes a base model, a Premium trim, and a Luxury trim, and the base version misses some of the convenience and comfort upgrades found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The RX uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and available FWD or AWD.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear passenger safe-exit system.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get a 9.8-inch touchscreen, while other models use a 14-inch display; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and cloud navigation comes with a subscription after the trial period.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD RX 350 is estimated at 25 mpg combined, while the AWD version is rated at 24 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lexus RX is offered in 4 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350h, RX 500h F Sport Performance, and RX 450h+.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RX experience with the turbocharged 2.4-liter engine, a conventional automatic transmission, and the choice of FWD or AWD. It suits you if you want the lowest starting price and the standard luxury comfort formula.
• RX 350h: This is the best-value choice for most buyers because it adds the hybrid powertrain and strong fuel economy while keeping the RX’s comfort-first character. If efficiency matters most, this is the trim to target.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance: This is the performance-oriented option, with 366 horsepower and a sportier setup than the rest of the lineup. It makes sense if you want the most power and are willing to pay for it.
• RX 450h+: This plug-in hybrid is the most expensive model, but it adds 304 horsepower and up to 37 miles of electric-only range. It fits you best if you can charge regularly and want the most electrified version of the RX.

The safety suite is standard across the lineup, while Premium adds parking proximity sensors and Luxury adds a head-up display.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,901 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,512, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $48,512 sits slightly below last year's $51,806.

That decline suggests the RX has softened in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper resale upside if you plan to sell soon. If prices continue to ease, future sellers may need to be more competitive on condition, mileage, and equipment.

The RX’s strong comfort reputation and broad appeal should still help it attract shoppers who want a refined luxury crossover. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX safe?

The 2024 Lexus RX earned five-out-of-five stars in overall and side collision protection and four stars in frontal and rollover tests from NHTSA. The FWD RX 350 is curiously rated four stars for overall protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded it a Top Safety Pick, with Good ratings in all crashworthiness evaluations except the moderate frontal overlap test, where it was rated Poor.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

All RX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear passenger safe-exit system. Premium adds parking proximity sensors, and Luxury adds a head-up display.

The main caveat is the Poor result in the moderate frontal overlap test, which is worth weighing if crash performance is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 adds the plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ and keeps the lineup focused on comfort and efficiency.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $44,853, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $48,512 average.
• It is a redesigned luxury crossover with a strong balance of refinement and modern features.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the latest model-year pricing context, strong inventory, and the expanded powertrain lineup. If you are price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value play because it delivers the same core RX formula for less money.
