Used 2024 Land Rover Defender for Sale nearAlbuquerque, NM

How much does the 2024 Land Rover Defender cost?

Prices have softened 15.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,955 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Land Rover Defender earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

It stands out as a rugged-yet-refined luxury SUV with legitimate off-road ability, and it also fits the overlanding use case well. The trade-offs are that its handling is more cumbersome than most luxury SUVs and its fuel economy is below average. Even so, its mix of off-road strength, upscale presentation, and engine choices makes it a versatile pick if you want capability as much as comfort.

The market also looks healthy, with 37.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Defender’s appeal is rooted in its go-anywhere character, and the modern version brings that toughness back in a more sophisticated package. Its long list of standard interior and safety features also supports everyday usability, while the broad powertrain lineup gives you flexibility in how you want to use it.

The performance notes point to strong capability across the lineup, including serious towing ability and impressive low-speed off-road control. The cost-effectiveness notes also highlight a 4-year/50,000-mile limited warranty, which helps with early ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its premium running costs and below-average efficiency can add up over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Land Rover Defender?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, trail driving, or heavy customization. Focus on overall condition, because the Defender’s appeal often depends on how well its rugged hardware and upscale cabin have been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim gives you a strong standard equipment list, including 19-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, partial leather upholstery, a panoramic glass roof, and a heated, power-adjustable steering wheel. Higher trims add more upscale touches, with the X-Dynamic SE bringing 20-inch wheels and ventilated front seats, the X adding a digital rearview mirror camera and partial Windsor leather upholstery, the V8 adding 22-inch wheels plus leather and microsuede upholstery, and the Outbound trading the third row for more cargo space.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a turbocharged four-cylinder, a mild-hybrid turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, or supercharged 5.0-liter V8 options. The lineup ranges from 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque in the four-cylinder to 518 hp and 461 lb-ft in the strongest V8, with full-time active four-wheel drive across the board.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera system. Lane-departure and lane-keeping intervention can feel overly touchy.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel and an 11.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, satellite radio, HD radio, and a 10-speaker Meridian stereo system.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient configuration returns 18 mpg city, 22 highway, 20 combined, while the 110 with the six-cylinder returns 17 city, 20 highway, 18 combined. The least efficient version returns 14 city, 19 highway, 16 combined.

Which 2024 Land Rover Defender trim should I buy?

The 2024 Land Rover Defender is offered in 5 trim levels: S, X-Dynamic SE, X, Carpathian Edition, and Outbound.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the best-value starting point if you want the Defender’s core character without jumping too far up the price ladder. You still get a panoramic roof, heated front seats, partial leather upholstery, and the standard tech and safety suite, so it covers the essentials well.
• X-Dynamic SE: This trim adds a more distinctive look and ventilated front seats, making it a smart step up if you want extra comfort and a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top.
• X: This is the trim to target if you want more luxury and convenience, thanks to the digital rearview mirror camera and partial Windsor leather upholstery. It also aligns well with the Defender’s more premium side.
• Carpathian Edition: Choose this if you want the most aggressive, dark-themed appearance. It leans into style and presence rather than value.
• Outbound: This is the one to buy if cargo space matters more than a third row. It keeps much of the X-Dynamic SE’s equipment while making room for gear.

The standard safety package is broad across the lineup, but the lane-assist behavior can be a little intrusive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Land Rover Defender?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully but not so much that you should expect deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,955 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $58,520, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Land Rover Defender's resale value?

The current average of $58,520 sits slightly below last year's $69,517.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability.

The Defender’s broad appeal as a rugged luxury SUV should help keep interest steady, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. Strong owner satisfaction also supports demand when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender safe?

The Defender comes with an extensive list of standard driver assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Other standard safety tech includes traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera system.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The lane-departure and lane-keeping assist intervention can feel a little too touchy, and that’s the main caveat to keep in mind. Those systems can be deactivated, but they may still be noticeable in everyday driving.

Should I buy a 2024 Land Rover Defender or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 expands V8 availability and adds new trims and features.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $52,316, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $58,520 average.
• It adds the extended Defender 130 to the lineup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $69,896, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $58,520 average.
• It adds the OCTA performance model.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want the strongest mix of price, inventory, and updated trim availability. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value play, while the 2025 makes sense only if you want the newer lineup and are willing to pay more.
