You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection if the listing has any gaps in service records or signs of prior damage. Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.29% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,608, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $26,091 average.
• It offers distinctive styling and a spacious cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping position, the 2024 is the better primary target because it combines solid inventory, decent deal availability, and strong owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.
