How much does the 2024 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 4.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,710 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a stylish, comfortable, enjoyable, and technologically advanced midsize sedan, and it is described as an excellent value for money. The trade-offs are that real-world fuel economy is unimpressive and the interior materials feel cheap.

The K5 also brings standard advanced safety features and an engine immobilizer system, while the GT-Line adds standard heated seats for 2024. 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kia K5 is presented as a well-equipped, value-focused midsize sedan with standard turbocharging and a strong warranty-backed ownership proposition. Its overall package suggests solid everyday dependability, especially if you prioritize comfort, technology, and standard safety equipment.

The performance notes point to a healthy torque delivery from the turbocharged engine and a transmission that shifts quickly and decisively. The cost-effectiveness notes also highlight one of the best factory warranty plans available, which is a useful ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that poor real-world fuel economy and crash-test concerns may weigh on ownership satisfaction over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same as problem-free cars. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the brakes, cabin materials, and overall condition, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a car with larger wheels. It is also worth confirming that the features you want are actually present, since equipment varies by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT-Line sits one step above the LXS and one step below the EX, while the GT is the budget sports sedan choice. The base LXS misses some of the quieter cabin treatment found on higher trims, and the GT-Line adds the sporty look without the GT’s full performance hardware.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. The GT uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet, plus an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a safe exit warning system. Standard equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder system, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.
• Infotainment: The LXS has an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless in the LXS and wired in the more expensive versions, and the larger screen adds navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Kia Connect services, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT-Line is rated at 31 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg with all-wheel drive, while the GT is rated at 27 mpg.

Which 2024 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point if you want the lowest price and the standard 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the K5’s value and safety basics without paying for extra equipment.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the sporty look, the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, and for 2024, standard heated seats. It also offers available all-wheel drive, which broadens its appeal if you want extra traction.
• EX: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more available tech than the lower trims. It sits above the GT-Line and is the better fit if comfort and convenience matter more than price.
• GT: This is the performance choice, with the 290-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter engine, sport-tuned suspension, quicker steering, bigger brakes, larger wheels, and Sport+ mode with launch control. It is the one to buy if you want the most engaging K5.

Every 2024 K5 comes with Kia Drive Wise, and higher trims can add cyclist detection, parking sensors, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and Highway Driving Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia K5?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,710 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,933, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $24,939 sits slightly below last year's $26,201.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability rather than simple age alone.

The K5’s strong value story may help keep demand steady, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. But the softer pricing trend means you should be realistic about how quickly the market may reward you later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 safe?

The 2024 Kia K5 earns low scores in updated IIHS moderate overlap frontal-impact and side-impact tests, with Poor and Marginal ratings, respectively.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 K5 has Kia Drive Wise, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a safe exit warning system. Standard safety equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder system, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.

Higher trims can add cyclist detection, automatic intersection braking, front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking when parking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, a navigation-based version with curve speed control, and Highway Driving Assist. The main caveat is that the updated IIHS results are a real concern for used buyers.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the standard turbocharged engine and adds heated seats to the GT-Line.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $27,548, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,939 average.
• It brings updated styling and more standard features.

The 2024 is the better buy if you want the strongest value and the standard turbocharged setup at a lower price. If you are willing to spend more for refreshed styling and newer tech, the 2025 is the cleaner upgrade path.
