Used 2024 Hyundai Kona for Sale nearColumbia, SC

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Kona cost?

Prices have softened 7.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,078 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The Kona’s appeal is rooted in its all-new redesign, fresh tech, and small footprint, which make it a strong fit if you want a subcompact SUV that feels modern without getting bulky. It also stands out for its multiple powertrain options and standard advanced safety features, which help it punch above its size in everyday usefulness.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is described as fairly pedestrian, and the cabin does not offer enough covered storage. Even so, if you value features, efficiency-minded packaging, and a compact footprint over driving excitement, the Kona makes a compelling case.

About 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Kona’s reliability case is supported by its emphasis on standard safety tech and its broad range of everyday features. Hyundai also positions the model as a value-focused redesign, which matters because a well-equipped vehicle that meets your needs without forcing you into higher trims can be easier to live with over time.

Its performance is described as fairly pedestrian, but that does not point to a durability concern on its own. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, so a careful inspection and history check matter more than chasing the newest trim.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and confirm that the vehicle has not had hidden damage or repeated repairs. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment, since you want to make sure the tech and safety systems work as intended. Focus on overall condition, cabin wear, and whether the features you care about are present on the specific trim you are looking at.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE gets standard LED headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights, plus 17-inch wheels, while SEL adds 18-inch wheels and N-Line and Limited move to 19-inch wheels. The higher trims also bring a more upscale equipment mix, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to which convenience and tech features are missing.
• Powertrain: The SE and SEL use a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a CVT, while N-Line and Limited use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic. The turbo setup adds more power, but the launch drive noted that pickup still felt a tad slow.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite is part of the Kona’s driver-assistance story, and standard safety equipment includes Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard on N-Line and Limited, and the Limited adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard across the lineup. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard only on the two lower trims for now, while top trims currently use wired connections; OTA update capability is standard, and dual 12.3-inch screens are available with the Convenience Package and included on N-Line and Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD reduces EPA fuel economy estimates from 26 city, 32 highway, and 28 mpg combined to 24 city, 29 highway, and 26 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, N-Line, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value entry point if you want the redesigned Kona’s standard LED lighting, 17-inch wheels, 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and core safety tech without paying for extras you may not need.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds 18-inch wheels and can be paired with the Convenience Package, which unlocks useful comfort and tech upgrades like heated seats, navigation, wireless charging, and adaptive cruise control.
• N-Line: Choose this if you want the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, paddle shifters, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and standard adaptive cruise control, along with a more feature-rich setup than the lower trims.
• Limited: This is the most fully equipped Kona, adding the turbo engine plus Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor, making it the trim to target if you want the most safety and convenience content.

Adaptive cruise control is standard on N-Line and Limited, while the Limited also gets Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,078 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,970, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $21,469 sits slightly below last year's $23,138.

That decline suggests the Kona has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help future sellers by keeping the model accessible to a wider pool of shoppers. At the same time, softer pricing means you should expect resale values to reflect market cooling rather than a strong premium.

If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, the Kona’s broad feature set can still support demand when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona earns Top Safety Pick recognition from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai makes a strong safety case here by standardizing Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. The Highway Driving Assist suite also adds a more advanced layer of driver assistance, and the Limited trim goes further with Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.

The main caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims, so base-trim shoppers should confirm the exact equipment list before buying.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new redesign brings fresh tech, a new look, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $21,426, the 2025 costs less than the current year's $21,469 average.
• It stays mostly unchanged while adding only a couple of new trim levels.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of inventory, value, and the appeal of the all-new redesign, the 2024 is the better starting point. If your priority is simply the lowest average price and you do not mind a mostly unchanged follow-up model, the 2025 is worth a look.
