Used 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,226 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a compact car that blends quality, fun, safety, utility, and affordability, and the hatchback body adds meaningful practicality. The available manual transmission also gives it a more engaging character than many small cars, while the available turbocharged engine makes it especially lively to drive.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and blind-spot warning is reserved for more expensive trims. Even so, the model’s strong safety ratings and well-rounded use-case make it a compelling choice if you want a hatchback that feels more rewarding than purely utilitarian.

With 37.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Civic Hatchback is presented as practical, safe, and broadly appealing, with a refined driver-assistance system and a well-rounded ownership proposition. Its available turbocharged engine and strong safety reputation support confidence for everyday use, while the hatchback format adds utility without making the car feel compromised.

The performance notes also point to a car that feels lively and enjoyable rather than strained in normal driving, which is a good sign for long-term livability. If you’re buying used, the main ownership risk is making sure the specific car has been maintained well and checked carefully for condition, since that matters more than the model’s broad appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has been driven hard. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and whether the car matches the trim and equipment you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from the base LX to the value-oriented Sport, the upscale EX-L with a leather interior, and the Sport Touring at the top. The base and mid-level trims use more basic 7-inch displays, while the Sport Touring adds a more sophisticated cabin presentation and richer tech.
• Powertrain: LX and Sport use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque, while EX-L and Sport Touring get the turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 180 hp and 177 lb-ft. The Sport trim can be had with a six-speed manual, while the EX-L comes only with a CVT.
• Safety package: Every model gets Honda Sensing, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and low-speed follow capability with the CVT, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot warning is limited to the EX-L and Sport Touring, while rear cross-traffic alert and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to Sport Touring.
• Infotainment: LX, Sport, and EX-L trims use a 7-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 7-inch touchscreen. Sport Touring upgrades to a 10.2-inch digital display and a 9-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, HD Radio, navigation, wireless charging, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The hatchback returns between 29 mpg and 35 mpg in combined driving, and the test car earned 35 mpg.

Which 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Civic Hatchback’s core practicality and standard safety tech without the richer cabin and tech upgrades found higher up the range. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more engaging character, including the option of a six-speed manual transmission. If you want the most personality for the money, this is the trim to focus on.
• EX-L: This trim is the step up if you want the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and a more upscale feel, including a leather interior. It’s a good fit if comfort matters more than getting the lowest price.
• Sport Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with the 10.2-inch digital display, 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, Bose audio, navigation, and wireless charging. It’s the right pick if you want the most technology and convenience.

Blind-spot warning is limited to the EX-L and Sport Touring, while rear cross-traffic alert and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to Sport Touring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should have some room to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,226 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,441, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $25,441 sits slightly below last year's $25,567.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable rather than volatile, which is helpful if you plan to sell later. A steady price pattern can make it easier to estimate what your car may be worth down the road, especially if you keep mileage and condition in check.

The hatchback’s broad appeal also helps support future demand, since shoppers tend to value its mix of practicality, safety, and driving enjoyment. If you maintain it well and keep it in a desirable trim, you should be in a better position when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback earns Good ratings in nearly all IIHS assessments and an Acceptable rating in the updated side-impact test, while the NHTSA gives it an overall five-star crashworthiness rating and a five-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing comes standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and low-speed follow capability with the CVT, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot warning is limited to the EX-L and Sport Touring, and rear cross-traffic alert plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to Sport Touring.

The main caveat is the Acceptable IIHS result in the updated side-impact test, which is weaker than the rest of the car’s crash-test performance. Even so, the overall safety picture remains strong.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 stands out because it adds significant utility and an available manual transmission, while also offering a turbocharged engine and strong safety ratings.

The bottom line: If you want the Civic Hatchback’s best mix of utility, driving enjoyment, and value in this generation, the 2024 is an easy year to recommend. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also shop nearby years, but the 2024’s stable pricing, strong satisfaction, and well-rounded equipment make it the safer all-around pick.
