CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Honda CR-V
Summary
With 6,447 currently listed for sale and an average price of $30,675, 36.9% of 2024 Honda CR-V listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Honda CR-V 3.75 / 5 stars.
89.9% of 2024 Honda CR-V listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Honda CR-V stands out as a compact crossover that leans hard into practicality, safety, and efficiency rather than flash. Honda’s redesign gave it a more handsome shape, and the cabin is bigger, with 41 inches of rear legroom and 39.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, plus 76.5 cubic feet with the seats folded. That roomy packaging is a big part of the CR-V’s appeal, especially for shoppers who want an easy-to-live-with family vehicle that still feels manageable in daily use.
For 2024, the CR-V continues to emphasize hybrid power on the top trims, and those versions can return up to 40 mpg combined while making 204 system horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. Honda also keeps the safety equipment generous, with standard adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, road-departure mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, and traffic jam assist. The infotainment system is described as basic, but the CR-V remains easy to learn and operate, which suits buyers who value simplicity as much as features.
Its strengths are clear: strong reliability, good economy, a roomy interior, and a long list of standard safety tech. The tradeoff is that it is not the most spirited driver, and it is not especially distinctive in style. Even so, the 2024 Honda CR-V is distinctive because it combines mainstream usability with a polished, well-rounded package that has made the nameplate a long-running benchmark in the compact crossover class.

Nice smooth drivetrain and comfortable ride. Roomy. LX trim has good basics. Some things I felt were missing: - Stiff suspension - can strongly feel potholes and bumps on the road - No wireless CarPlay/Android auto - need a cable pipe in the phone - Just one USB charging port - seems low even for a modern base model. No ports for back seats at all, not even a rear 12V. - No blindspot alert system - feels somewhat scary if you're coming from a car that had one.

Everything was great but the price. They wanted way too much for a car that has one accident.

Is the 2024 Honda CR-V a good car?
The 2024 Honda CR-V is a well-rounded choice if you want a compact crossover that prioritizes practicality, safety, and efficiency over flash. It earns a user rating of 3.75/5, and its roomy cabin, easy daily usability, and strong standard safety equipment make it especially appealing for family-focused shoppers.
The CR-V’s biggest strengths are its spacious interior, good economy, and straightforward controls, while its infotainment system is described as basic and its driving character is not especially sporty. If you value a polished, easy-to-live-with SUV more than standout style or excitement, it fits that brief well.
38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2024 Honda CR-V reliable?
The 2024 Honda CR-V is presented as a strong reliability play, with an emphasis on practicality, safety, and efficiency. Its appeal is built around a roomy cabin, generous standard safety tech, and a straightforward ownership experience that should suit buyers who want a dependable compact crossover.
For used buyers, that combination points to lower drama over time if the vehicle has been maintained properly, but you should still pay close attention to service history and overall condition before committing.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda CR-V?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still review the history report carefully and confirm there are no signs of prior damage, inconsistent maintenance, or unresolved recalls. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, cargo area, tires, brakes, and any electronics you plan to use every day. Because this model’s appeal is tied so closely to practicality, condition matters a lot.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what to target.
- Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 6,446 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.57% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 89.8% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2024 Honda CR-V's resale value?
The current average of $30,674 sits slightly below last year's $31,164.
That modest decline suggests the CR-V is holding value reasonably well, even as prices ease from prior levels. For a future seller, that means you may not see dramatic depreciation pressure in the near term, especially if your vehicle has clean history and strong condition. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move than less-maintained ones because shoppers are drawn to the model’s practicality and reputation.
Should I buy a 2024 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.57% compared with last year.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $29,054, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,674 average.
- It offers a roomier, comfort-focused redesign with improved infotainment and safety.
The bottom line:
Choose the 2024 if you want the current-year pricing context and a broad pool of listings to compare. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value path because it costs less while still delivering the CR-V’s core strengths in space, comfort, and usability.
