Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 a good car?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 earns an expert rating of 7.7/10.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The GV80 blends classic luxury with modern technology, and the cabin is a major part of that appeal. It also brings a powerful engine option and a contemporary feel without losing its traditional luxury tone.

The trade-offs are seat comfort, wired smartphone integration instead of wireless connectivity, and fuel economy. For you, that means the GV80 makes the most sense if you value style, features, and upscale presence more than efficiency or plush long-haul seating.

36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is meaningful value in the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 comes across as a well-equipped, thoughtfully engineered luxury SUV with standard all-wheel drive and a strong safety and driver-assistance roster.

Its performance content points to a capable powertrain lineup, and the SUV is described as quiet, composed, and rewarding to drive. The cost-effectiveness content also notes a generous new-car warranty, complimentary maintenance, connected services, and valet pick-up and drop-off for dealership service.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the GV80’s thirst for fuel can make it more expensive to live with over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on seat condition, infotainment operation, and whether the vehicle’s features work as expected on a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Standard, Advanced, Prestige, and Prestige Signature are the trim levels named for this model year. The base setup still includes a large touchscreen and a strong luxury presentation, but the higher trims add more upscale interior details, a 3D digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 375 horsepower. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, and the V6 brings stronger performance but worse fuel economy.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist, while the GV80 also offers Blind-Spot View Monitor and Remote Smart Parking Assist. The safety tech is broad, but some features are not universal across every trim.
• Infotainment: All models have a 14.5-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Genesis Connected Services, wireless smartphone charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The Prestige and Prestige Signature add a 12.3-inch display with a subtle 3D appearance.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.5T test vehicle returned 20 mpg in combined driving according to EPA estimates, and the evaluation loop returned 17.2 mpg. The GV80 is described as thirsty, especially with the twin-turbo V6.

Which 2024 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Standard, Advanced, Prestige, Prestige Signature.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s core luxury feel without stretching the budget. It gives you the basic upscale experience, but you miss some of the richer display and convenience upgrades found higher up the range.
• Advanced: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It adds meaningful comfort and tech upgrades without pushing you all the way to the most expensive versions.
• Prestige: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the more desirable luxury touches, including the 12.3-inch display and head-up display. If you want the GV80 to feel fully premium, this is the sweet spot.
• Prestige Signature: This is the most lavish version, with exclusive exterior colors and more distinctive appearance details. It is the one to choose if you want the most upscale presentation and do not mind paying for it.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but some advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis GV80?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, with enough inventory and enough deal activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,613 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,024, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $44,057 sits slightly below last year's $48,473.

That decline suggests the GV80 has become more affordable on the used market, which can help you buy in at a better price. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing trend means you should expect some depreciation pressure to continue. Even so, the current spread between the year-ago average and today’s price gives you a clearer entry point than before.

Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for both driver and passenger in the frontal-impact test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The GV80’s standard and available driver-assistance features include Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist. The blind-spot camera view and the standard active blind-spot warning system add extra reassurance when changing lanes.

One caveat is that Highway Driving Assist can be less desirable in moderate to heavy high-speed traffic, where it may brake and accelerate more than you want. In lighter traffic, though, it works especially well.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.11% compared with last year.
• It offers a stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding luxury-SUV experience.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,643, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,057 average.
• It emphasizes value with standard all-wheel drive and strong equipment.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $48,765, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,057 average.
• It adds wireless smartphone integration and a more polished interior.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, style, and current-market availability, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want the newer tech updates, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
