The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The GV80’s appeal is strongest if you want a midsize luxury SUV that feels upscale without being overly complicated. It pairs a powerful engine lineup with impressive technology, and the overall package is described as elegant and traditional rather than flashy. Trade-offs include seat comfort that falls short and the need for a USB cable to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

The market also looks reasonably favorable, with 39.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 is presented as a mostly rewarding luxury SUV with a strong warranty, complimentary maintenance, and connected services that help reduce early ownership friction.

Its powertrains are described as capable and refined, and the vehicle’s overall setup emphasizes comfort, technology, and everyday usability. The ownership picture is helped by Genesis’ maintenance and service perks, which can make the first stretch of ownership easier to live with.

The main long-term risk for used buyers is that the GV80’s thirst for fuel can add up over time, especially if you choose the more powerful engine.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping higher-mileage examples or a vehicle with premium options. Focus on seat condition, infotainment usability, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GV80 is offered with Standard, Advanced, Prestige, and Prestige Signature trim levels. The base setup is less lavish than the upper trims, while Prestige and Prestige Signature add a more upscale cabin with features like a 12.3-inch display and head-up display.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque or a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive, and the V6 brings stronger performance but worse fuel economy.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist, while Blind-Spot View Monitor shows a camera feed in the instrument panel during lane changes. Remote Smart Parking Assist can park the SUV for you, and standard active blind-spot warning adds another layer of protection.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, SiriusXM, Genesis Connected Services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless smartphone charging. Prestige and Prestige Signature add a 12.3-inch display and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.5T returned 20 mpg in combined driving according to the EPA, while the evaluation loop produced 17.2 mpg.

Which 2024 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Standard, Advanced, Prestige, and Prestige Signature.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s core luxury, standard all-wheel drive, and broad feature set without paying for the most elaborate cabin upgrades.
• Advanced: This is the trim to target if you want a stronger balance of equipment and value before stepping into the pricier luxury-focused versions.
• Prestige: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel, including the 12.3-inch display and head-up display.
• Prestige Signature: Choose this if you want the most lavish presentation, including the most distinctive interior and exterior touches, but it is more about indulgence than necessity.

The safety package is a strong part of the GV80 story, with Highway Driving Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Remote Smart Parking Assist all highlighted.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis GV80?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,743 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,037, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $44,883 sits slightly below last year's $49,552.

That decline suggests the GV80 has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help demand from shoppers who want luxury value. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you may need to be more competitive if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

The good news is that the current market still shows meaningful interest, so a well-kept GV80 with desirable equipment should remain saleable. If you maintain it carefully and keep the history clean, you’ll be in a stronger position when it’s time to trade or sell.

Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for the driver and passenger seating positions in the frontal-impact test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The GV80’s safety tech is a major strength. Standard and available systems include Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist. The blind-spot camera view and blind-spot warning features add useful visibility when changing lanes.

One caveat is that Highway Driving Assist can feel less desirable in moderate to heavy high-speed traffic, where it may brake and accelerate more than you’d like. In lighter traffic, though, it works especially well.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.42% compared with last year.
• It offers a stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding balance before the 2025 refresh.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,827, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,883 average.
• It offers value-focused luxury with broad appeal and standard all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $49,969, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,883 average.
• It adds a refreshed interior and wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, availability, and the current GV80’s traditional luxury feel, the 2024 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the value play; if you want the newer tech and refreshed presentation, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
