Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 a good car?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 earns an expert rating of 7.7/10.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The GV80 comes across as a stylish midsize luxury SUV with impressive technology and a mostly rewarding overall character. It is also described as safe, and its upscale feel is reinforced by strong design and a well-equipped cabin.

The main trade-offs are seat comfort and fuel economy. You also need a USB cable for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is a practical drawback if you want a more seamless phone connection.

There are 38.4% good and great deals in the market, which suggests you can still find worthwhile listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 is presented as a safe and mostly rewarding midsize luxury SUV, with a strong mix of technology, power, and everyday usability.

Its powertrain lineup includes a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The GV80 also offers a generous warranty, complimentary maintenance, and connected services, which help support ownership confidence.

The performance notes point to a composed, quiet driving experience with good road feel and strong acceleration, while the cost-effectiveness notes emphasize value relative to European rivals. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that the GV80 can be thirsty, especially with the twin-turbo V6.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are comparing multiple trims or higher-mileage examples. Focus on seat condition, infotainment usability, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific vehicle you are considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GV80 is offered with 2.5T and 3.5T models, and the higher-end Prestige Signature brings a more decadent interior with diamond-stitched Nappa premium leather, a suede headliner, metallic-finish accents, ambient lighting, a 3D digital instrument cluster, and a wide touchscreen display. If you want the most upscale presentation, the Prestige trim is the better value than the Signature version.
• Powertrain: The 2.5T uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.5T uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, and the 3.5T adds upgraded front brakes and adaptive damping suspension.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist, while Blind-Spot View Monitor shows a camera feed in the instrument panel during lane changes. Remote Smart Parking Assist can park the SUV in parallel or perpendicular spaces, and the GV80 also includes standard active blind-spot warning technology.
• Infotainment: Every 2024 GV80 has a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Genesis Connected Services, wireless smartphone charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Prestige and Prestige Signature models add a 12.3-inch display with a subtle 3D appearance, and the Prestige and Prestige Signature also get a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.5T returns 20 mpg in combined driving, and the GV80 is described as thirsty, especially with the twin-turbo V6.

Which 2024 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Standard, Advanced, Prestige, Prestige Signature.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s core luxury, standard all-wheel drive, and broad feature set without paying for the upper-trim extras.
• Advanced: This is the trim to target if you want a stronger mix of equipment and value before the price climbs into the more indulgent versions.
• Prestige: This is the best-value trim if you want the richer cabin presentation, the 12.3-inch display, and the head-up display without going all the way to the top.
• Prestige Signature: This is the most lavish choice, with the most distinctive interior and exterior touches, but the added polish does not make it the most compelling value.

The Prestige and Prestige Signature trims add the head-up display, while the lower trims do not.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis GV80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,636 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,007, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $44,316 sits slightly below last year's $48,487.

That price movement suggests the GV80 has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now than it did a year ago. If you buy at today’s average, you are starting from a lower entry point than recent sellers saw.

For a future seller, that means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than higher-mileage or less-equipped versions.

Is the 2024 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2024 Genesis GV80 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it earns four-star ratings in frontal-impact testing for both driver and passenger seating positions.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The GV80’s safety package includes Highway Driving Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and standard active blind-spot warning technology. Highway Driving Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist and lane-change assist, while the Blind-Spot View Monitor shows a camera feed in the instrument panel when you signal a lane change.

The main caveat is that the frontal-impact test results are lower than the overall NHTSA score, so you should keep that in mind if crash-test performance is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.60% compared with last year.
• It offers a stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding balance of luxury, power, and technology.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,228, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $44,316 average.
• It delivers value with stylish design, standard all-wheel drive, and a healthy choice of potent powertrains.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $49,105, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,316 average.
• It adds a redesigned look and wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and features, the 2024 is the strongest all-around pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 gives you a lower entry price, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer tech and refreshed presentation.
