Is the 2024 Genesis G70 a good car?

The 2024 Genesis G70 earns an 8.67/10 expert rating, and its strongest category score is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

The G70’s appeal comes through clearly in its sharp styling, excellent build quality, great handling, and impressive safety tech. It also gives you multiple powertrain choices, so you can tailor the car’s character to how you want it to feel on the road.

The trade-offs are a snug cabin and limited interior storage, plus no wireless smartphone mirroring.

With 39.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is backed by excellent build quality, a strong warranty, and free scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles.

Its powertrain coverage runs 10 years/100,000 miles, and the basic warranty lasts five years/60,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership risk. The performance notes also point to a car that can take abuse, with a dynamic chassis, strong braking hardware, and hardware like a mechanical limited-slip differential and electronically controlled suspension on the higher-output setup.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a compact luxury sedan can become expensive if prior maintenance was skipped or if you want maximum cargo and cabin practicality.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis G70?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-output or all-wheel-drive example. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and whether the cabin and exterior still feel premium.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin gets updated design elements, a digital climate control panel, aluminum trim options, and a frameless rearview mirror, but the base setup still leaves you with a compact cabin and limited storage.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque; both use an eight-speed automatic and are offered with RWD or AWD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and Highway Driving Assist; available upgrades include a blind view monitor, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning.
• Infotainment: Every G70 gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and Genesis Connected Services; wireless smartphone mirroring is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter engine returns 24 miles per gallon combined in RWD and 23 mpg combined with AWD, while the 3.3-liter engine is rated at 21 mpg combined in RWD and 20 mpg combined with AWD.

Which 2024 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is offered in 4 trim levels: Advanced, Sport Prestige, Standard, and Sport Advanced.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the entry point for the 2.5-liter model, and it’s the best-value choice if you want the new base engine, strong standard safety tech, and the lowest starting price.
• Standard: This trim keeps the four-cylinder setup and gives you the core G70 experience if you want the model’s style and driving feel without stretching for extras.
• Sport Advanced: This V6 trim is the middle step for buyers who want more power than the four-cylinder but don’t need the top-spec equipment.
• Sport Prestige: This is the top-end choice, pairing the 3.3-liter engine with the most equipment; it suits you best if you want the strongest performance and are willing to pay for it.

Safety content notes that the G70 makes most advanced driver aids standard, while blind view monitor, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning are available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,089 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,032, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $31,838 sits slightly below last year's $34,608.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the G70’s value will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and whether it has the desirable equipment and powertrain combination. A well-kept example should remain easier to move than one with visible wear, but you should still expect luxury-sedan depreciation to matter.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2024 Genesis G70 has not received an overall, frontal, side impact or rollover crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), while the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it the top score of Good in crashworthiness, crash avoidance and mitigation.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane following assist. Available upgrades include a blind view monitor, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning.

One caveat is the IIHS child-restraint result: the G70 received a Marginal score because the lower LATCH anchors are deep in the rear seats and harder to access.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.01% compared with last year.
• A new, more powerful base engine and strong handling make this year especially compelling.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $31,050, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $31,838 average.
• It offers a polished design and a well-rounded character.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package, the 2024 is the better pick thanks to its updated base engine, excellent handling, and strong safety tech. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the smarter value play and still gives you the core G70 formula.
