How much does the 2024 Ford F-150 cost?

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 a good car?

Owners consistently praise its powerful engine choices, smooth driving feel, and broad feature set. The truck also stands out for its towing capability and the way it balances work duties with family use. On the downside, some owners want more center-console storage and a push-button start, and a few question whether the pricing fully matches the value.

The F-150’s versatility makes it a strong fit if you want one truck that can handle commuting, hauling, towing, and everyday errands. Good and great deals account for 32.8% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable, with a reputation for being a truck you can count on for towing, daily driving, and a wide range of jobs. The expert drive notes also point to a powertrain lineup that feels composed in normal use and settles down well once the truck is loaded.

Ford also includes a three-year/36,000-mile factory warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-option trucks can get expensive to maintain and replace if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck that was used for towing, off-roading, or heavy work. Focus on cabin wear, suspension condition, and signs that the truck was loaded hard or modified. If you want the most confidence, compare service records and look closely at how the truck was equipped and maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is pretty spartan, while higher trims add more luxury and convenience. Mid trims can still show some cheap-looking surfaces, so inspect cabin materials closely if you want a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: You have multiple engine choices, including a standard turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, an available 3.5-liter turbo V6 hybrid, and V8 options in certain trims. The hybrid is the standout for efficiency and torque, while the Tremor and Raptor R bring more specialized performance character.
• Safety package: Ford CoPilot 360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and cross traffic alert. A 360-degree camera is recommended on higher trims, and BlueCruise is available on Tremor and up.
• Infotainment: Every truck gets a 12-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a 5G LTE hotspot, and a 12-inch digital gauge cluster. An available head-up display adds another useful layer of information.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 22 mpg in the city, 24 mpg on the highway, and 23 combined.

Which 2024 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Platinum Plus, Tremor, Raptor R.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the most basic version, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and plan to keep the truck focused on work duties.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and is one of the trims that can be paired with the hybrid powertrain.
• Lariat: Choose this if you want a stronger mix of comfort and tech without jumping all the way to the luxury end.
• King Ranch: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with heated and ventilated front leather seats, heated rear seats, wood trim, and ambient lighting.
• Platinum: This trim pushes further into upscale territory and can be paired with the hybrid powertrain.
• Platinum Plus: This is the most premium-feeling version mentioned here, with a Smoked Truffle interior and Dark Smoked Truffle accents.
• Tremor: Pick this if you want off-road hardware, including a lift, off-road-tuned suspension, and an electronic locking rear differential.
• Raptor R: This is the extreme performance model, with a supercharged V8 and serious off-road capability.

Ford recommends moving up the trim line if you want the 360-degree camera, and BlueCruise is available on Tremor and above.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,789 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,181, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $45,181 sits slightly below last year's $50,240.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays cool. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price competitively to move the truck quickly. Well-equipped trucks with strong maintenance records should still attract attention, especially because the F-150 remains a high-demand nameplate.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2024 Ford F-150 earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with five-star side-crash and frontal-crash ratings and four-star rollover ratings. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2024 F-150 SuperCrew the top score of “Good” in driver- and passenger-side crashworthiness, while front crash testing received a “Poor” rating for possible injuries to rear-seat passengers.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford CoPilot 360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and cross traffic alert. A 360-degree camera is recommended, and BlueCruise is available on Tremor and higher trims. The main caveat is that some advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to move up the lineup to get the full suite you want.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a standard 12-inch touchscreen, an updated BlueCruise system, and a multi-functional tailgate.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,115, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $45,181 average.
• It adds the Raptor R and the XLT Heritage Edition.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $49,078, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $45,181 average.
• It broadens the lineup with more powertrains and added driver-assistance tech.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, updated tech, and broad capability, the 2024 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value play; if you want the widest possible configuration range, look to the 2025.
