Used 2024 Dodge Hornet for Sale nearNew Bern, NC

How much does the 2024 Dodge Hornet cost?

Prices have softened 10.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 891 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Dodge Hornet earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Hornet’s appeal comes from its compact-crossover format with a performance-minded personality, standard all-wheel drive, and strong powertrain choices. It is aimed at you if you want a small SUV that feels more energetic than average and still brings a modern tech setup.

The main trade-offs are a claustrophobic back seat and limited cargo space, and the R/T trim is described as poor value. Good and great deals account for 37.1% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Hornet is presented as a compact utility vehicle that blends power, attitude, and everyday usability. Its standard all-wheel drive and easy-to-use technology support the case for a vehicle that should feel straightforward to live with.

The performance notes point to strong output from both the gas and plug-in hybrid setups, and the tech system is described as user-friendly and customizable. Dodge also includes a standard set of driver-assistance features, which can help reduce stress in daily driving.

If you plan to keep one long term, the biggest ownership risk is that the more complex electrified trims and higher-priced configurations may be costlier to live with than the simpler gas model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Dodge Hornet?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-trim or heavily optioned example. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the equipment on the car matches the listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Hornet is offered in four trim levels: GT, GT Plus, R/T, and R/T Plus. The GT and GT Plus use the regular gas engine, while the R/T and R/T Plus use the more advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain. The interior is described as more modern than other Dodge models, but some steering-wheel buttons feel outdated and the seats may be too heavily bolstered for typical shoppers.
• Powertrain: The GT uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the R/T adds a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 15.5-kWh battery, and two electric motors for 288 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The GT requires premium fuel, and the R/T is heavier because of its battery.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. A more advanced adaptive cruise setup with traffic-sign recognition is available for extra cost, and level 2 autonomous driving functions are available with the Tech Pack.
• Infotainment: The Hornet uses a 10.25-inch touchscreen with UConnect 5, plus a 12.3-inch digital driver information display. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard, and wireless phone charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT should return 21 mpg city, 29 highway, and 24 combined. The R/T can travel roughly 30 miles on electric power, and the test car was estimated at roughly 2 miles per kilowatt hour in EV driving.

Which 2024 Dodge Hornet trim should I buy?

The 2024 Dodge Hornet is offered in 4 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, R/T, and R/T Plus.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the best-value trim if you want the Hornet’s core appeal without stepping into the pricier electrified setup. You still get the 2.0-liter turbo engine, standard all-wheel drive, and the strongest case for keeping running costs more manageable than the R/T.
• GT Plus: Choose this if you want the gas model but want a more upscale equipment mix than the GT. It builds on the standard Hornet formula while staying on the less expensive side of the lineup.
• R/T: This trim adds the plug-in hybrid powertrain, more torque, and electric driving capability, but the data describes it as poor value. It makes sense mainly if you specifically want the PHEV setup.
• R/T Plus: Pick this only if you want the most fully equipped version of the electrified Hornet and are comfortable paying for it.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, with standard driver-assistance features and additional capability available on higher-spec or optioned versions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Dodge Hornet?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 891 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,467, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Dodge Hornet's resale value?

The current average of $22,467 sits slightly below last year's $25,091.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim choice, condition, and how well the vehicle is equipped.

Because the Hornet is still a relatively niche compact crossover with a strong personality, well-kept examples should remain easier to market than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet safe?

The 2024 Dodge Hornet has not been evaluated or crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. A more advanced adaptive cruise setup with traffic-sign recognition is available for extra cost, and level 2 autonomous driving functions are available with the Tech Pack.

Should I buy a 2024 Dodge Hornet or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model year stands out for its strong technology, including a 9/10 tech score and standard wireless smartphone integration.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,212, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,467 average.
• It is introduced as Dodge’s first all-new model in over a decade.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing momentum, and tech appeal, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you the Hornet’s core personality.
