Used 2024 Dodge Hornet for Sale nearAlbuquerque, NM

How much does the 2024 Dodge Hornet cost?

Prices have softened 10.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 879 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Dodge Hornet earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Hornet fits you well if you want a compact crossover with a more energetic personality, standard all-wheel drive, and a modern tech setup. The trade-offs are a claustrophobic back seat and limited cargo space, and the R/T trim offers poor value.

The market shows 35.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Hornet is positioned as a compact utility vehicle that leans into power, attitude, and everyday usability. Its standard all-wheel drive and easy-to-use technology support that appeal, while the electrified R/T broadens the lineup for shoppers who want efficiency without giving up the Dodge image.

The performance setup is straightforward and confidence-inspiring, with a four-cylinder engine in the gas model and a plug-in hybrid option in the R/T. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a trim that may cost more to run or deliver less value than the gas version.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Dodge Hornet?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-trim or heavily optioned example. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the equipment you want is actually present on the specific listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Hornet comes in GT and GT Plus gas trims, plus R/T and R/T Plus plug-in hybrid trims. The cabin has a modern feel, but some buttons feel dated, the seats may be too heavily bolstered for typical shoppers, and the Blacktop Package adds black wheels, black mirror caps, and darker badging and window trim.
• Powertrain: The GT uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the R/T adds a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 15.5-kWh battery, and two electric motors for 288 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The GT requires premium fuel, and the R/T is heavier.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. A more advanced adaptive cruise setup with traffic-sign recognition is available, and the Tech Pack adds level 2 autonomous driving functions with intelligent speed assist and lane-tracing assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver information display, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and UConnect 5. The system is customizable, and the test vehicle also had a premium Harman Kardon audio system and a wireless phone charger.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT should return 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The R/T can travel roughly 30 miles on electric power alone and is described as roughly 2 miles per kilowatt hour in that mode.

Which 2024 Dodge Hornet trim should I buy?

The 2024 Dodge Hornet is offered in 4 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, R/T, and R/T Plus.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the best-value choice if you want the Hornet’s core strengths without paying for the pricier electrified setup. You still get the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, standard all-wheel drive, and the strong tech package, while avoiding the R/T’s poor-value reputation.
• GT Plus: Choose this if you want a more upscale version of the gas model and are willing to pay more for added equipment. It keeps the Hornet’s energetic character and modern cabin feel, but the data points you toward the GT if value matters most.
• R/T: This trim adds the plug-in hybrid powertrain, more torque, and all-electric driving capability, but it is the trim specifically called out as poor value. It makes sense only if you specifically want the electrified setup.
• R/T Plus: This is the most expensive route and is best for shoppers who want the most advanced version of the Hornet and are comfortable paying for it. The added equipment may appeal, but the value case remains weaker than the gas trims.

The safety package includes standard driver-assistance features, with traffic-sign recognition and level 2 capability available on higher equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Dodge Hornet?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 879 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.53% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,190, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Dodge Hornet's resale value?

The current average of $22,190 sits slightly below last year's $24,801.

That price movement suggests the Hornet has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less downside than someone who paid closer to the original new-car pricing.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Dodge includes an impressive selection of advanced driver assistance systems as standard equipment, including automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. A more advanced adaptive cruise version with traffic-sign recognition is available, and the Tech Pack adds level 2 autonomous driving functions with intelligent speed assist and lane-tracing assist.

Neither the 2023 nor the 2024 Dodge Hornet have yet been evaluated or crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, so there is no crash-test result to lean on here. That makes the standard safety equipment especially important when you evaluate a used example.

Should I buy a 2024 Dodge Hornet or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs standard all-wheel drive with a more modern tech setup and a plug-in hybrid option.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,786, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,190 average.
• It introduced the Hornet as a stylish, power-focused compact utility vehicle.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and feature content, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path.
