CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Dodge Durango
Summary
With 5,030 currently listed for sale and an average price of $32,040, 39.1% of 2024 Dodge Durango listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Dodge Durango 4.8 / 5 stars.
89.8% of 2024 Dodge Durango listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Dodge Durango stands out as a three-row SUV that blends family-friendly seating with a distinctly performance-oriented character. It is part of the Durango’s third generation, which moved to a crossover design based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee platform, and that change made it more comfortable and easier to drive. Even so, it still offers the kind of strong powertrain lineup and available rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive setup that help it feel more muscular than many midsize SUVs.
For 2024, the Durango’s lineup still included the base Pentastar V6 along with 5.7-liter, 6.4-liter, and 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8s. It also offered a wide range of trims, from fleet-oriented versions to police packages and consumer models such as the GT, R/T, Citadel, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat. Buyers could find features like leather or nappa leather, a premium Harman Kardon audio system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning, which gives the Durango a broad mix of comfort, tech, and safety equipment.
The 2024 Durango’s appeal is also tied to its practicality and personality. It can seat seven, and some versions offer second-row captain’s chairs. At the same time, it has a reputation for strong powertrains and sporty trims that borrow cues from Dodge’s performance cars. The tradeoff is that it is not the newest design in the segment, and the buying guide notes that Durango models have had plenty of reliability issues over the years, including electrical and transmission problems, so condition and maintenance history matter.

Is the 2024 Dodge Durango a good car?
Yes — the 2024 Dodge Durango earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers generally praise its smooth ride, abundant features, and strong power, and the AWD setup gets positive attention for performance and fuel efficiency. That fits well if you want a three-row SUV with family seating and a more muscular personality than many midsize rivals. With 40.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2024 Dodge Durango reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Drivers describe it as smooth, dependable-feeling, and strong on power, with some owners highlighting trouble-free ownership and confidence in the AWD setup. At the same time, used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance records and overall condition, because long-term ownership risk rises when prior care is unclear.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Dodge Durango?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Because this model can be bought in many trims and configurations, condition matters more than trim badge alone. Pay close attention to how well the vehicle has been maintained, especially if you’re considering one of the more powerful versions.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Dodge Durango?
It looks like a buyer-friendly market right now, with meaningful inventory and a healthy share of discounted listings.

What is the 2024 Dodge Durango's resale value?
The current average of $32,055 sits slightly below last year's $36,019.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For future resale, the current softness means your value may depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the vehicle is equipped. If you keep the Durango clean and well documented, you can help protect its appeal when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 40.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.00% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $33,562, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $32,055 average.
- It adds standard heated front seats and brings back the Hellcat as a regular-production option.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $34,136, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $32,055 average.
- It keeps the roomy interior and modern infotainment while leaning harder into special-edition performance.
The bottom line: The 2024 is the best primary choice if you want the strongest mix of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 still looks like the sweet spot, but a carefully chosen 2023 could make sense if you want specific equipment or performance content.
