Used 2024 Chevrolet Trax for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 6.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,894 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Trax earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its sporty design, fuel efficiency, and comfort, along with its modern technology and value for money. The expert review also highlights its stylish design, great handling, and impressive technology. The main trade-offs are that it lacks power for some drivers and does not offer all-wheel drive, and the cabin’s ergonomic design is a weak point.

Given that the Trax is positioned as Chevrolet’s entry-level crossover and is meant to bridge the gap left by small cars the brand no longer offers, it makes the most sense if you want an affordable small SUV with a more modern feel than the old model. 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free feel in everyday use, with praise for its fuel efficiency, comfort, and value. The expert review also describes the powertrain and suspension as well sorted, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. Chevy’s standard warranty coverage includes a three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and still feels right for your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Trax?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free status is only a starting point. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, controls, and road manners, since the Trax’s ergonomic design is a known weak point and some owners want more interior space. It’s also worth confirming that the features you want are actually present, because advanced safety equipment is not standard across the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base LS models come with 17-inch steel wheels, cloth upholstery, and an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims add 18-inch or 19-inch aluminum wheels, Evotex upholstery, and a larger screen. If you want a more upscale feel, the higher trims are the ones to target.
• Powertrain: The Trax uses a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, paired with front-wheel drive only. The engine is tuned for strong low-speed response and minimal turbo lag, but it is still a small-displacement setup.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist are optional.
• Infotainment: LS and 1RS trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while LT, 2RS, and Activ models get an 11-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, and wireless phone charging is also offered.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trax returns 30 mpg combined, including 28 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 5 trim levels: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and can live with the basics. It gets the standard 8-inch touchscreen, cloth upholstery, and the core safety tech, but it is the most stripped-down version.
• 1RS: This trim adds a sportier look while staying close to the entry price. It is a good fit if you want a little more style without moving too far up the ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the larger 11-inch touchscreen, the 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a more upscale feel without jumping to the top of the range.
• 2RS: Choose this if you want the sportier appearance and the upgraded tech package together. It is a stronger pick if style matters as much as equipment.
• Activ: This is the trim to consider if you want the more rugged-looking version with the same upgraded tech content as the upper trims. It is the most distinctive choice in the lineup.

Safety-package note: adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist are optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,894 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,349, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $20,349 sits slightly below last year's $21,725.

That softer pricing suggests the Trax is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can work against short-term resale if you plan to sell soon. On the other hand, it also means you may be buying at a relatively favorable point in the cycle. If demand stays steady, a well-kept Trax should remain easy to explain to future shoppers because it combines affordability, efficiency, and modern tech.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Crash-test ratings from IIHS and NHTSA were not available at the time of publication. Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist are optional.

The Teen Driver system is also standard, and it can automatically activate certain safety features if equipped, mute the radio until front-seat occupants buckle up, prevent shifting out of Park with an unbuckled seat belt, and generate a driving report card for parents. The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 Trax is a major redesign with a bigger footprint, more modern tech, and a more polished feel than the original model.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Trax with the strongest mix of style, tech, and value, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, you can also compare nearby model years and focus on whichever clean, well-priced example gives you the best equipment for the money.
