How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 12.63% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,994 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban earns a 7.5/10 expert rating, and it is framed as a capable, capacious family truckster for buyers with big needs and big hobbies.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

That lines up with the Suburban’s strengths: massively useful cargo capacity, excellent powertrain options, and great towing capability. It is especially appealing if you want truck-based utility rather than a car-based crossover, and the independent rear suspension helps make the third row more usable than before.

The trade-offs are clear, though: the V8s are not fuel-efficient, the technology is underwhelming, and it is expensive. For you, that means the Suburban makes the most sense when space, towing, and passenger room matter more than efficiency or a cutting-edge cabin.

36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban is presented as a straightforward, truck-based family hauler with a proven body-on-frame layout and a redesign that improved third-row space and overall usefulness.

Its powertrain lineup is broad, with two V8s and a diesel option, and the diesel is described as smooth, strong, and well-matched to the 10-speed automatic. The transmission is well-tuned, and the steering and brakes are described as impressively up to the task for a vehicle this size.

Chevrolet also includes a maintenance perk in the ownership experience: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is a large, expensive SUV with thirsty gas engines, so ownership costs can add up if you do not truly need its towing and hauling ability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Suburban?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and any signs of heavy towing use. You should also pay close attention to cabin condition and feature operation, since this is a large, expensive SUV where wear can be costly to ignore.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS starts with cloth seats and 18-inch alloy wheels, while higher trims add leather upholstery and larger wheels. Even the top trims still leave some desirable items as options, including power running-board steps and a panoramic power moonroof.
• Powertrain: Chevrolet offers two V8s and a Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder. The diesel is the standout for buyers who want stronger fuel economy and smooth, confident acceleration, while the 6.2-liter V8 is the upgrade choice for more effortless power.
• Safety package: Every trim includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, front and rear park assist, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, and Chevy’s Teen Driver feature. Rear cross-traffic alert is available on lower trims and standard on higher ones. Super Cruise is available on the Premier and High Country through the Advanced Technology Package.
• Infotainment: The Suburban gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen on all but the base LS, which uses an 8-inch screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Google Built-in are included, and the system also supports Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store without phone pairing.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel delivers significantly better fuel economy than the V8s, while the gas engines are not fuel-efficient.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Suburban trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the basics, including standard safety tech, 18-inch alloy wheels, and the smaller 8-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the nicer cabin materials and larger display found higher up.
• LT: This is the first step up for shoppers who want a more polished feel without jumping all the way to the luxury end. It adds the broader equipment set that comes with moving beyond the base trim and is a sensible middle-ground choice.
• RST: This trim is one of the better fits if you want a more upscale look and the stronger available powertrain choices without going all the way to the top. It sits in the middle of the lineup and gives you more flexibility than the base model.
• Z71: This is the off-road-focused trim, and it is the one to choose if you want the standard 4WD setup and a more rugged orientation. It is the most specialized trim in the lineup.
• Premier: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings a more premium experience and can be equipped with Super Cruise. It is a strong choice if you want luxury-leaning features without paying top-trim money.
• High Country: This is the top trim, with the richest cabin presentation, 22-inch alloys, and the most upscale available equipment. It is the pick if you want the most luxurious Suburban and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but rear cross-traffic alert becomes more widely equipped as you move up the trims, and Super Cruise is reserved for the Premier and High Country.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Suburban?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,994 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.63% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $56,736, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $56,736 sits slightly below last year's $64,934.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, the Suburban’s strong utility and broad appeal should still support demand, but you should expect resale value to track closely with condition, mileage, and equipment.

Because the current average is below last year’s level, a well-kept example bought at the right price may be easier to move later than one purchased at the top of the market. The safest path is to buy a clean, well-equipped trim that matches real-world use, especially if you expect to keep it for towing or family duty.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash tests, five-star ratings in side-crash tests, and three-star ratings in rollover tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance suite is broad and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, front and rear park assist, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, and Chevy’s Teen Driver feature. Rear cross-traffic alert is available on lower trims and standard on higher ones.

The main caveat is the rollover result, which is lower than the side-crash score and worth keeping in mind given the Suburban’s size and height. Super Cruise is available on the Premier and High Country through the Advanced Technology Package.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.63% compared with last year.
• It remains a capable, capacious family truckster with a redesigned cabin that improves third-row space.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $63,859, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $56,736 average.
• It brings a major tech upgrade with a new touchscreen and a more modern interior.

The 2024 is the better buy if you want the stronger value proposition and can live with the older tech. If you care most about the latest cabin updates and are willing to pay more, the 2025 is the better path.
