Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale nearPittsburgh, PA

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 7.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,038 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability for shoppers comparing trims and cab configurations.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Generally — it earns a 4.33/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, which points to a truck that lands well with both owners and testers. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its strong performance, ride quality, and appearance, and they also like the range of options available. The truck’s use-case appeal is strongest if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle rougher terrain while still feeling more modern inside than older work-focused trucks.

The trade-offs are clear: some owners want more advanced features and technology, and the truck is often viewed as overpriced. Even so, 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners’ feedback points to a truck that feels strong, dependable, and capable over time, with praise centered on performance and the ability to handle demanding use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the diesel powertrain feels well-mated to the transmission and that the truck settles into cruising smoothly, which supports the impression of a durable, confidence-inspiring heavy-duty pickup.

Chevrolet backs it with a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-mileage heavy-duty trucks can be expensive to keep in top shape, especially if they’ve been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has towing, hauling, or off-road use in its past. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and signs of hard use, since heavy-duty trucks can hide wear that isn’t obvious in photos.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country, and the off-road-specific ZR2. The base work truck is plain but still handsome, while higher trims add more chrome, upscale materials, and a more premium cabin. If you want the best-value mix of equipment and everyday usability, the LT is the trim to study closely.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.6-liter V8 gas engine with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, plus an available 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both pair with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission, and the diesel is described as quiet and smooth.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even the top trim, so you should verify whether a used truck has it if that matters to you.
• Infotainment: Starting on the LT trim, you get a 12.3-inch configurable gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with Google built-in, Amazon Alexa, and a thoughtful menu structure.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck returned 20.3 miles per gallon in one 2WD test and 17 mpg in mixed 2WD and Auto 4WD driving.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is offered in 6 trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck: This is the most basic choice, aimed at buyers who want the Silverado’s core heavy-duty capability without extra frills. It makes sense if you care most about utility and price, but it is the least equipped trim.
• Custom: This trim adds a body-colored grille bar and a bit more visual polish over the Work Truck. It’s a good fit if you want a little more style without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you want the most useful mix of tech and everyday comfort, start here.
• LTZ: This trim adds more chrome and a more upscale look, with C-shaped headlamps and a more premium presentation. It suits you if you want the truck to feel more refined without going all the way to the top.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with open-pore wood, leather trim, metal accents, and a more upscale cabin. It’s the right pick if you want the most premium feel in the lineup.
• ZR2: This is the off-road-specific trim, and it’s the one to choose if rough terrain is a priority. It stands apart with its blacked-out styling and the hardware that supports its trail-focused character.

The safety package is modest on the lower trims, and adaptive cruise control remains optional across the lineup, so check equipment carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Inventory: There are 6,038 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $54,497, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $54,497 sits slightly below last year's $58,737.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also mean future resale gains are harder to count on in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means condition, mileage, and equipment will matter even more when it comes time to set your asking price.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has not yet been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance equipment includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. GM’s Safety Seat is also available, and it can buzz the driver’s seat to help refocus attention if traffic slows unexpectedly.

A key caveat is that not all advanced safety features are standard, and adaptive cruise control is optional on every trim, including High Country. If safety tech matters to you, verify the exact equipment list on any used truck you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• This year stands out for its mid-cycle refresh, better styling, and the addition of the ZR2 off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed styling, stronger tech, and the added appeal of the ZR2, the 2024 is the right target. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024’s softer pricing and strong inventory make it a sensible place to shop first.
