How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 9.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,487 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu earns a 4/5 user rating, which points to solid shopper satisfaction for this model year. The overview frames it as a practical, value-oriented midsize sedan with a roomy cabin, easy-to-use features, and a price position that often undercuts rivals like the Camry and Accord. It is best suited to you if you want space and simplicity more than driving excitement, since the Malibu’s appeal centers on comfort, practicality, and straightforward ownership. 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview says the Malibu’s later years earned the best reliability reputation among front-wheel-drive versions, which is a meaningful plus if you want a used sedan that has already worked through much of its development cycle. It also points to a straightforward formula, intuitive infotainment, and available active safety features, all of which support an easy ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about finding a well-kept example that still feels consistent in condition and maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and confirm that the car’s condition matches the listing description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you want extra confidence, especially on a sedan that may have been used as a commuter or family car. Focus on overall wear, maintenance records, and how well the cabin and features have held up, since those details matter most on a practical model like this.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,487 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,456, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $18,456 sits slightly below last year's $20,417.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you buy in at a lower entry point. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped. If you keep the car clean, documented, and accident-free, you give yourself a better chance of standing out when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 Malibu makes the most sense if you want the final-year version of a practical, value-focused midsize sedan and you care more about comfort and simplicity than driving excitement. If your priority is stretching your budget, the 2024 is a strong target; if you want to compare across years, a nearby model year may offer a similar formula at a different price point, so shop whichever one gives you the best condition and value combination.
