Used 2024 Buick Encore GX for Sale near New York

How much does the 2024 Buick Encore GX cost?

Prices have softened 4.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,495 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2024 Buick Encore GX comes across as a smartly refreshed subcompact crossover with an attractive design, a comfortable ride, and useful cargo space. It is also positioned as Buick’s best-selling model, and the refreshed look plus the new touchscreen give it a more modern feel.

The trade-offs are clear: the new touchscreen underwhelms, and performance could be better. That means you may like it most if you want an easygoing, economical small crossover rather than a sporty one.

Good and great deals account for 36.8% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Encore GX is described as economical, comfortable, and easy to live with, which supports the case for dependable everyday use. Its smooth ride and practical packaging also point to a vehicle that should fit routine commuting and family errands well.

On the mechanical side, the turbocharged engine is described as responsive enough, though not especially quick, and the ride is tuned for comfort rather than drama. Buick also includes a free first vehicle service with an oil change, inspection, and tire rotation, which is a nice ownership perk early on.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a vehicle with this kind of comfort-first setup may feel less satisfying if you expect strong acceleration or a more polished tech experience over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the touchscreen, the condition of the interior plastics, and how the powertrain behaves on takeoff and during highway passing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Preferred trim is the entry point, while the Sport Touring and Avenir add more presentation and upscale touches. The Avenir gets its own unique grille and chrome trim, and the top trims also gain new LED tail lights. If you want the most premium look, the Avenir is the one to target.
• Powertrain: The base Preferred can use a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. All trims can be upgraded to a 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. The turbo is the better choice if you want more responsive driving.
• Safety package: Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring. Rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch touchscreen with an 8-inch digital gauge cluster under one glass panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and USB-A, USB-C, a wireless charging pad, and a 120-volt outlet are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA gives the Encore GX a combined fuel rating of 30 miles per gallon in FWD with either engine. With AWD and the 1.3-liter engine, combined fuel economy drops to 27 mpg.

Which 2024 Buick Encore GX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the starting point and the best fit if you want the lowest entry price and the core Encore GX experience. It can be had with the smaller 1.2-liter engine, and it still includes Buick’s standard Driver Confidence safety package.
• Sport Touring: This is the middle ground if you want a little more style without jumping all the way to the top trim. It should make sense for shoppers who want a more expressive version of the Encore GX while keeping the same basic formula.
• Avenir: This is the upscale choice, with its own unique grille and chrome trim. If you want the most premium-looking Encore GX, this is the trim to target.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard across the lineup, but rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera remain extra.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,495 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.47% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,814, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Buick Encore GX's resale value?

The current average of $22,023 sits slightly below last year's $23,054.

That softer pricing suggests the model is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can matter if you plan to trade in soon. If prices stay near this level, future sellers may need to be more flexible to move a used Encore GX quickly.

The good news is that the model’s broad appeal, comfortable ride, and practical cargo space should help it remain attractive to shoppers looking for an easygoing small crossover. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX safe?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, including five-star ratings for frontal crash and side crash, and a four-star rating for rollover.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring. Rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.

One caveat is that the system’s automatic braking settings are not adjustable, so you cannot tune how early or late it intervenes. The Encore GX has not yet been rated by IIHS for this model year.

Should I buy a 2024 Buick Encore GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refreshed design, new touchscreen, and added Avenir trim broaden the appeal of this model year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,019, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,023 average.
• It is a straightforward, comfortable, cargo-friendly small crossover.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version with the updated look and broader trim choice, the 2024 is the better pick. If your priority is saving money and you are comfortable giving up the refresh, the 2023 is the more budget-conscious path.
