Used 2024 BMW i5 for Sale nearFort Lauderdale, FL

How much does the 2024 BMW i5 cost?

Prices have softened 7.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 214 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 BMW i5 a good car?

The 2024 BMW i5 is a strong pick if you want a luxury EV that blends performance, comfort, and value, though its tech interface keeps it from being an easy recommendation for everyone. It earns a 1/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

The i5’s core appeal is clear in the data: it is described as fun to drive, offers impressive electric range, and stays comfortable inside. The expert summary also says it rises to the top among its rivals while still being less expensive than the competition, which matters if you want a premium electric sedan without stretching to the priciest alternatives.

The main trade-off is the unintuitive technology. The infotainment system is called out as underwhelming, and the expert notes that too many functions are buried in menus or handled by small on-screen controls. That means you get a well-rounded EV for commuting, touring, and spirited driving, but you should be ready to live with a less intuitive interface.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 BMW i5 reliable?

The 2024 BMW i5 is presented as a well-sorted new EV with a comfortable cabin and strong driving manners, and the expert notes that BMW’s EVs have a reputation for easily exceeding their range estimates. The performance write-up also points to smooth brake blending, quiet operation, and a stable, composed ride, all of which support the impression of a polished daily driver.

The cost-effectiveness section adds a useful ownership perk: BMW includes three years of free 30-minute charging on the Electrify America network. That helps soften early ownership costs if you rely on public charging.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software-heavy controls still feel healthy and consistent after prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW i5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this is a tech-heavy EV where software, charging behavior, and driver-assistance features matter as much as cosmetic condition. Focus on how the cabin electronics respond, whether the charging system behaves normally, and whether the car feels consistent on a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level eDrive40 gives you the core i5 experience with rear-wheel drive, while the xDrive40 adds all-wheel drive and more power. The M60 xDrive is the performance-focused choice with much more output and a sport-tuned adaptive suspension.
• Powertrain: The eDrive40 uses a single electric motor with rear-wheel drive, while the xDrive40 and M60 xDrive use dual-motor all-wheel drive. Output ranges from 335 horsepower in the base model to 593 horsepower in the M60, and the base model is the most range-friendly.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist. The optional Driving Assistance Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, a hands-free highway assistant, active lane-change assist, and lane-keep steering intervention.
• Infotainment: The iDrive system uses a large dual-screen setup with sharp graphics and quick responses, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Voice control helps with many functions, but some secondary settings still require menu diving.
• Range & charging: The 84.3-kWh battery supports an EPA-estimated range of 270 to 295 miles on the rear-drive model, 248 to 266 miles on the xDrive40, and 240 to 256 miles on the M60 xDrive. BMW also includes three years of free 30-minute charging on the Electrify America network.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm that home charging and DC fast charging both work normally, and review how the car was charged over time. You also want to understand how much of the battery warranty remains so you know how much coverage you still have if capacity drops or charging issues appear.

Which 2024 BMW i5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW i5 is offered in 3 trim levels: eDrive40, xDrive40, M60 xDrive.

Here's the short version:

• eDrive40: This is the best-value choice if you want the i5’s main strengths at the lowest entry point. It uses a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup, delivers the strongest range figures in the lineup, and still gives you the comfortable, refined luxury-EV experience the model is known for.
• xDrive40: This is the smart upgrade if you want more traction and stronger acceleration without jumping all the way to the performance model. The added front motor and all-wheel drive make it the most balanced pick for many shoppers, especially if you drive in weather-prone regions.
• M60 xDrive: This is the trim for you if performance matters most. It brings the most power, the quickest acceleration, and a sport-tuned adaptive suspension, but it also gives up some range.

The standard safety equipment is strong across the lineup, and the optional Driving Assistance Professional package adds the most advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW i5?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 214 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,681, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW i5's resale value?

The current average of $50,900 sits slightly below last year's $54,854.

That decline suggests the market has moved in your favor if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The current range still leaves room for value-conscious shoppers to find a reasonable deal, especially if a car is clean and well equipped.

If you plan to resell later, the i5’s appeal should help, since it combines luxury branding, strong range, and good driving dynamics. Even so, the softer pricing trend means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Is the 2024 BMW i5 safe?

The 2024 BMW i5 has not yet been crash tested by NHTSA or IIHS, so there is no official crash-test result to cite for this model year.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

All i5 models come standard with frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist. The optional Driving Assistance Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, a hands-free highway assistant, active lane-change assist, and lane-keep steering intervention. A head-up display and surround-view camera system are available as part of the Premium package.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW i5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.21% compared with last year.
• The 2024 BMW i5 is a new model that makes a strong impression with stirring performance, plenty of range, and a very comfortable cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the i5 with strong value relative to its rivals, the 2024 is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep watching the market for a lower-mileage example or a better-equipped listing that lands near the bottom of the year-round range.
