How much does the 2024 BMW X5 M cost?

Is the 2024 BMW X5 M a good car?

The 2024 BMW X5 M stands out because it combines the X5’s everyday luxury-SUV practicality with the kind of performance hardware that makes it feel far more serious than a typical family hauler. For you, that means a high-performance SUV that still aims to deliver a premium, usable package with a refined cabin, more room inside, and the latest iDrive infotainment system.

The 2024 refresh also sharpened the styling, added the BMW Curved Display with digital gauges and next-generation iDrive infotainment, and brought broader improvements to the X5 lineup. If you want a luxury SUV that is genuinely rewarding to drive and still practical enough for daily use, this model fits that brief well.

38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 M reliable?

The 2024 BMW X5 M is described as a premium, usable package, but the broader X5 family is not known for cheap ownership, with maintenance and repair costs likely to be higher than average. That means you should expect a performance-first luxury SUV rather than a low-cost ownership experience.

For used buyers, the long-term risk is less about basic appeal and more about keeping up with potentially expensive maintenance and repair needs, so a well-documented service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X5 M?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of hard use, deferred maintenance, or prior bodywork. Because this is a high-performance luxury SUV, condition matters more than usual, so pay close attention to service records, tire and brake wear, and how consistently the vehicle has been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X5 M?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and disciplined.

• Deal availability: 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 142 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $90,701, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X5 M's resale value?

The current average of $90,701 sits slightly below last year's $98,007.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you better entry pricing than a year ago. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned than a shopper who paid closer to last year’s average. For a future seller, the key will be preserving condition and documentation so the vehicle stands out in a performance-SUV market where ownership costs can influence demand.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X5 M or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.45% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the strongest all-around choice if you want the updated styling, newer cabin tech, and a market that has softened enough to improve your buying position. If your main goal is to minimize upfront cost, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2024 gives you the best mix of current features and market value.
