Is the 2024 BMW M3 a good car?

Generally — the 2024 BMW M3 earns a 4/5 user rating, and its appeal comes from being a high-performance sedan that still works for everyday use. It comes only as a sedan with seating for five and a roomy 16.9-cubic-foot trunk, and BMW gives you a wide range of upgrades for comfort, convenience, safety, and performance so you can tailor the car to your preferences. That mix of serious pace and usable packaging is the core of its value proposition, especially if you want a sports sedan that does more than just go fast.

34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 BMW M3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 BMW M3’s reliability case is tied to its strong performance reputation and its ability to serve as a practical daily driver without giving up its core mission. BMW’s available xDrive all-wheel drive system helps put the power down, and the car’s broad upgrade range lets you choose the equipment level that fits your needs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a high-performance sedan can bring higher maintenance and repair exposure than a mainstream car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW M3?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s maintenance records match its mileage and performance use. Put inspection priority on tires, brakes, suspension, and any signs of hard driving, since those areas matter most on a performance sedan. Focus on overall condition and equipment fit, because BMW offers enough configuration and upgrade variety that two M3s can feel very different.

That small increase suggests the 2024 M3 has held value well, which is a strong sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand rather than a market that is softening. Should I buy a 2024 BMW M3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $81,987, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $89,592 average.
• It blends performance, practicality, and luxury in one package.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $90,035, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $89,592 average.
• It adds mid-cycle updates while keeping the core formula fresh.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of current-market pricing, clean inventory, and everyday usability, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better secondary path, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer updates and are willing to pay a bit more.
