Overview
The 2024 Audi A5 Sportback combines the dynamic refinement of the A5 Coupe with a four-door fastback layout that provides easier access to the rear seats and more cargo space than the coupe variant.
What’s New for the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback
For the 2024 model year, there are more standard features to be found in the A5 Sportback. It now comes standard with parking sensors, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a heated steering wheel.
Design
The A5 Sportback features a menacing grille, flanked by angular LED headlights. The Sportback comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels and is available with 19-inch alloy wheels.
Powertrain
The base engine in the A5 Sportback is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This is found in the TFSI 40, and it makes 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. The upgraded TFSI 45 also features a 2.0-liter turbo-four, but this one is tuned out to 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). The TFSI 45 can get from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.
EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback are 26 mpg city, 35 highway, and 30 combined. The S Line trim returns fuel economy of 24 mpg city, 32 highway, and 27 combined. The A5’s powertrain requires premium fuel.
Interior
Standard features on the A5 Sportback include tri-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and leather upholstery. Available features include ventilated front seats, driver’s seat memory settings, and remote keyless entry.
The A5 Sportback provides 21.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 35 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. This generous cargo space is accessed via a standard power rear hatch.
Technology
The A5 Sportback features an intuitive 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. It is available with wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system, and a fully digital instrument panel, which Audi calls the “Virtual Cockpit.”
Safety
A number of driver-assistance features come as standard equipment on the A5 Sportback, including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and front and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are both optional on the Premium and standard on the Premium Plus and Prestige trims. The Premium Plus also adds a 360-degree parking camera system. Other available safety tech includes traffic-sign recognition, a head-up display, and safe-exit assist, which alerts occupants to approaching traffic before exiting the vehicle.
Pricing
At the time of this writing, the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback has a base MSRP of $45,500 for the 40 Premium and $47,700 for the 45 Premium. The 40 Premium Plus starts at $49,700 and the 45 Premium Plus starts at $51,800. The 40 Prestige starts art $55,000 and the range-topping 45 Prestige starts at $56,250. Reviewed a 2024 Audi quattro Premium 40 TFSI AWD on May 16, 2025
I gave this car a 4 out of 5 because it offers excellent comfort, fuel efficiency, and reliability — typical of the Camry line. The infotainment system is user-friendly, and the safety features like lane assist and adaptive cruise control are great additions, even in a used model. It feels like a solid value for the price, especially considering Toyota’s strong resale value and warranty options for certified vehicles. However, I do think it could use a more premium interior finish and better sound insulation — especially compared to competitors like the Honda Accord or Mazda6.

Is the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction.
That kind of feedback suggests you can shop this model year with confidence, and 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which adds to the appeal for value-focused buyers.
Is the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership anxiety if the vehicle has been maintained well and checked carefully before purchase.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Audi A5 Sportback?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether wear items match the asking price.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Audi A5 Sportback?
This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.
- Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,126 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.15% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $29,890, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Audi A5 Sportback's resale value?
The current average of $29,890 sits slightly below last year's $35,227.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to resell later, a lower entry price can reduce the amount of value you need to recover. Strong condition and clean history matter even more when the market has softened.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Audi A5 Sportback or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.15% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2024 is the better primary choice if you want the strongest mix of price softness, inventory depth, and owner satisfaction. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a slightly older example offers a lower entry point, but the 2024 already looks attractive for shoppers who want a balanced used-car purchase.
