Is the 2024 Acura ZDX a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and an expert rating of 7.5/10, the 2024 Acura ZDX looks like a strong pick if you want a two-row electric luxury SUV with a distinctive Acura identity. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The overview and test-drive data point to a stylish design, a comfortable ride, and impressive technology, which fit well if you want a polished premium EV rather than a purely performance-focused one. The trade-offs are that charging rates are unimpressive and some control placements are quirky, while the interior plastics can feel cheap.

Good and great deals account for 40.8% of listings, which suggests there are still meaningful opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Acura ZDX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes the ZDX as a two-row electric luxury SUV with a clear role in the lineup, and the expert evaluation reinforces that it delivers a comfortable cabin and appealing technology. The performance notes also suggest it is a well-sorted EV in daily use, with usable range and straightforward charging behavior for home and DC fast charging.

The cost-effectiveness notes add that Acura includes charging-related credits with new purchases or leases, which can help ease early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is EV-specific wear and battery condition, so you should pay close attention to charging history and overall battery health.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Acura ZDX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings with different mileage and charging habits. Focus on cabin condition, charging-port condition, and whether the vehicle has been used mostly for home charging or frequent DC fast charging.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec and Type S both look sporty, but the A-Spec uses 20-inch wheels while the Type S gets 22-inch wheels and a black-painted roof. The base trim also misses some of the Type S’s more aggressive visual and hardware upgrades.
• Powertrain: The ZDX is offered with single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive setups. Output ranges from 358 horsepower in the rear-drive A-Spec to 490 horsepower in the all-wheel-drive A-Spec, while the Type S uses a dual-motor AWD setup with 500 horsepower and 544 lb-ft.
• Safety package: A-Spec models get AcuraWatch, while Type S models add AcuraWatch 360+, which brings more parking sensors, a semi-autonomous parking assist system, a rear pedestrian alert system, a surround-view camera, and Hands-Free Cruise.
• Infotainment: You get configurable 11-inch digital instrumentation and an 11.3-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Built-in, and over-the-air connected services through the system’s software ecosystem.
• Range & charging: The A-Spec RWD is rated at 313 miles, the A-Spec AWD at 304 miles, and the Type S at 278 miles. Acura says all three can charge from 20% to 80% in 42 minutes on a 190-kW DC fast charger, and home Level 2 charging adds 29.4 miles per hour.
• Battery health: For a used EV, you want to confirm battery state-of-health, ask how often the car has relied on DC fast charging versus home charging, and check how much of the battery warranty remains. A clean charging history and normal daily charging patterns are both reassuring signs.

Which 2024 Acura ZDX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Acura ZDX is offered in 2 trim levels: A-Spec and Type S.

Here's the short version:

• A-Spec: This is the better-value choice if you want the ZDX’s core strengths without paying for the Type S’s extra performance hardware. It still gives you the stylish design, comfortable cabin, and strong tech setup, and the rear-wheel-drive version offers the best range.
• Type S: Choose this if you want the most powerful ZDX and the most advanced driver-assistance setup. It adds the dual-motor AWD drivetrain, more aggressive hardware, and AcuraWatch 360+ with Hands-Free Cruise, but it also comes with shorter range and a higher price.

The safety-package upgrade is most complete on the Type S, while the A-Spec gives you the simpler and more affordable entry point.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Acura ZDX?

The market looks favorable for buyers right now, especially if you want room to negotiate and compare multiple listings.

• Deal availability: 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 201 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,571, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Acura ZDX's resale value?

The current average of $33,571 sits slightly below last year's $36,419.

That price movement suggests the ZDX has already absorbed some depreciation, which can be helpful if you’re buying now and planning to sell later. If prices stabilize, a future seller may benefit from entering the market after the steepest early drop has already happened.

The current range also shows that well-priced examples are still available, which can support demand for clean, well-equipped vehicles. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Acura ZDX safe?

The 2024 Acura ZDX earns Top Safety Pick+ recognition from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on the A-Spec and includes the brand’s core collision detection and avoidance systems. The Type S upgrades that setup to AcuraWatch 360+, which adds more parking sensors, a semi-autonomous parking assist system, a rear pedestrian alert system, a surround-view camera, and Hands-Free Cruise.

The main safety caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for the Type S, so you’ll want to verify exactly which package a used example has before you buy.

Should I buy a 2024 Acura ZDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 ZDX stands out as Acura’s fast path into the electric luxury SUV market, with GM Ultium-based engineering and a polished premium-EV feel.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of price, inventory, and feature content, the 2024 is the easy starting point. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the market for the best-equipped A-Spec you can find, since it captures most of the ZDX’s appeal without the Type S premium.
