Used 2023 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearWichita, KS

How much does the 2023 Volvo XC60 cost?

Prices have softened 10.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,198 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is a strong fit if you want a stylish, tech-forward luxury SUV with a plug-in hybrid setup, though its value and driving smoothness are less convincing. It earns 3/5 from users and 8.00/10 from our experts.

The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Its appeal is rooted in the plug-in hybrid formula itself: you get electric-only driving for short trips and nightly charging habits without giving up a gasoline engine for longer drives. The cabin also comes across as polished and upscale, with impressive technology and a strong safety focus.

The trade-offs are real, though. Acceleration and braking can be abrupt, and rear-seat legroom is tight. Value is another weak point, especially when you compare the XC60 Recharge’s pricing to what you get.

With 38.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 benefits from Volvo’s long-running focus on safety, and the plug-in hybrid setup adds flexibility for daily driving and longer trips. The XC60 Recharge’s powertrain is described as a blend of style, performance, and efficiency, and it can make EV living feel approachable without forcing you into a full battery-electric ownership experience.

The performance notes point to a capable setup that can run in Pure mode, Hybrid mode, or Charge mode, with the gasoline engine and regenerative braking helping extend range and recover energy. That kind of flexibility can make the XC60 easier to live with if you want to plug in regularly but still keep road-trip freedom.

If you plan to keep one long term, the main ownership risk is cost: this is a premium plug-in hybrid SUV, so repairs and upkeep can be more expensive than you’d expect from a mainstream vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the vehicle’s charging and hybrid systems work as expected. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a plug-in hybrid, since you want to confirm smooth operation in both electric and gasoline driving. Focus on overall condition, because the XC60’s value proposition depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and equipped.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans Core, Plus, Ultimate, and Polestar Engineered, with the Ultimate package bringing the most complete equipment set. The base setup is less richly appointed than the higher trims, so you should compare features carefully if you want the best mix of comfort and technology.
• Powertrain: The Recharge setup uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine, an electric motor, and an 18.8-kWh battery pack. It offers an estimated 35 miles of electric driving range and can produce 455 horsepower and 423 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability, and Oncoming Lane Mitigation can help avoid collisions with oncoming traffic. The Ultimate trim includes all of the XC60’s available safety features.
• Infotainment: The XC60 uses a 9-inch portrait-style touchscreen with Google Built-in, wireless-style smartphone-friendly functionality through Apple CarPlay support, and four years of complimentary access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play. It also includes SiriusXM satellite radio and Wi-Fi access.
• Fuel efficiency: In testing, the XC60 Recharge averaged 54.6 mpg over a 65-mile evaluation route, and a 50.8-mile freeway trip in Charge mode returned 19.7 mpg while adding 20 miles of battery range.

Which 2023 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultimate, and Polestar Engineered.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point if you want the XC60’s plug-in hybrid experience without stretching too far on price. It gives you the basic XC60 formula, but you’ll miss some of the richer comfort and convenience touches found higher up the range.
• Plus: This is the trim that should make the most sense for many shoppers because it adds more of the equipment that makes the XC60 feel properly premium without jumping all the way to the top. It’s the best-value choice if you want a balanced mix of features and cost.
• Ultimate: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete XC60 experience, including the strongest safety and convenience content. It suits you best if you care most about luxury feel, technology, and driver-assistance features.
• Polestar Engineered: This is the enthusiast-oriented choice if you want the most performance-focused version of the XC60 Recharge. It’s the one to consider if you care more about sharper driving character than everyday value.

The Ultimate trim includes all of the XC60’s available safety features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volvo XC60?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,198 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,678, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $32,678 sits slightly below last year's $36,366.

That decline suggests the XC60 has softened in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the current average is already below last year’s level, future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Well-equipped examples with strong condition and desirable features should hold up better than plain or heavily used ones.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS, and the XC60 B5 and B6 mild-hybrids earn top marks across the board from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Pilot Assist is Volvo’s most advanced driver-assistance system, combining adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability on the highway. Oncoming Lane Mitigation is also included, helping reduce the risk of collisions with oncoming traffic or unsafe left turns across traffic.

One important caveat is that the crash-test language applies to the B5 and B6 mild-hybrid versions, while the Recharge plug-in hybrid itself has not been assessed by NHTSA.

Should I buy a 2023 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• The 2023 XC60 Recharge is especially appealing if you want a plug-in hybrid that blends electric-only driving with gasoline backup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,733, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $32,678 average.
• The 2022 XC60 brings Volvo’s signature style and solid engineering to a crowded luxury segment.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the more current used-market opportunity and the plug-in hybrid appeal. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better value path.
