Used 2023 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2023 Volvo XC60 cost?

Prices have softened 10.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,262 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 a good car?

With a user rating of 3/5 and an expert rating of 8/10, the 2023 Volvo XC60 is a compelling luxury SUV if you value style, technology, and safety more than outright value.

The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Its plug-in hybrid setup gives you the flexibility to drive on electricity for short trips while keeping a gasoline engine for longer journeys, and the overall package is aimed at shoppers who want an upscale, efficient luxury SUV. The trade-offs are real, though: acceleration and braking can feel abrupt, rear-seat legroom is tight, and the value proposition is not especially strong.

Good and great deals account for 37.4% of listings, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 builds on a long-running platform that has improved over time, and the plug-in hybrid setup is designed to give you electric-only driving for daily use without forcing you to rely on charging alone.

Its powertrain is meant to make EV ownership feel less intimidating because you can plug in nightly, use electric driving for routine trips, and still have gasoline backup for longer drives. The efficiency story is strongest when you keep it charged and use Pure mode regularly, and the available drive modes let you tailor the SUV for commuting, errands, or longer highway trips.

If you plan to keep one long term, the main ownership risk is that the premium hardware and complex hybrid system can make repairs and upkeep more expensive than you might expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, verify service records, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a plug-in hybrid with premium equipment. Focus on how the drivetrain behaves in normal driving, whether the cabin electronics work cleanly, and whether the brakes and suspension feel consistent.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Core, Plus, Ultimate, and Polestar Engineered, with Bright or Dark exterior themes. The Ultimate trim brings the most complete equipment set, while the base trims leave you with fewer luxury touches and less of the upscale presentation that defines this SUV.
• Powertrain: The XC60 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine paired with a rear electric motor and an 18.8-kWh battery pack. It can drive on electricity for an estimated 35 miles before switching to hybrid operation, and the combined setup produces 455 horsepower and 423 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability, and Oncoming Lane Mitigation adds another layer of protection. The Ultimate trim includes all available safety features, while lower trims may not be as comprehensively equipped.
• Infotainment: A 12-inch digital instrument panel is standard, and the infotainment system uses a 9-inch portrait-style touchscreen with Google Built-in, wireless-style smartphone support through Apple CarPlay, and four years of complimentary access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play.
• Fuel efficiency: In testing, the XC60 Recharge averaged 54.6 mpg over a 65-mile evaluation route, and a longer freeway-heavy trip returned 19.7 mpg while adding battery range in Charge mode.

Which 2023 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultimate, and Polestar Engineered.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the XC60’s plug-in hybrid efficiency and core luxury feel at the lowest starting point. It gives you the basic XC60 Recharge experience, but you give up some of the richer cabin and convenience upgrades that make the higher trims feel special.
• Plus: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and price. It should give you more of the upscale feel buyers expect from a Volvo without pushing you all the way to the most expensive versions.
• Ultimate: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it brings the most complete feature set, including the full safety package and the richest luxury presentation. If you want the XC60 to feel properly premium, this is the one to prioritize.
• Polestar Engineered: Choose this if you want the most performance-focused version of the XC60 Recharge. It is the trim for buyers who care most about the sportier side of the plug-in hybrid setup rather than maximum comfort or value.

The Ultimate trim includes all of the XC60’s available safety features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,262 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,288, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $33,288 sits slightly below last year's $37,077.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale pressure unless the vehicle is especially well equipped, lightly used, and in excellent condition.

Because the XC60 is a premium SUV with a strong feature set, well-kept examples should still hold appeal. Even so, the current pricing trend shows that buyers have leverage, so depreciation remains a factor to watch if you plan to sell later.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 B5 and B6 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Pilot Assist is Volvo’s most advanced driver-assistance system, combining adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability on the highway. Oncoming Lane Mitigation is also included, helping reduce the risk of collisions with oncoming traffic or unsafe left turns across traffic.

The main caveat is that the plug-in hybrid version was not assessed by NHTSA, so the strongest crash-test language in the data applies to the mild-hybrid versions instead.

Should I buy a 2023 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.22% compared with last year.
• The 2023 XC60 Recharge stands out for its blend of style, performance, and efficiency.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,384, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $33,288 average.
• The 2022 XC60 is a stylish, well-engineered luxury crossover with notable updates and strong safety appeal.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger plug-in hybrid experience and are willing to pay more for it. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the smarter value play and still gives you the XC60’s core strengths.
