Used 2023 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearBaton Rouge, LA

How much does the 2023 Volvo XC60 cost?

Prices have softened 10.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,300 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is a strong fit if you want a luxury SUV that blends style, technology, and safety with plug-in hybrid flexibility. It earns 3/5 from users and 8.00/10 from our experts.

The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Its appeal is rooted in the way it lets you sample electric-only driving for daily use while keeping a gasoline engine for longer trips, which helps reduce range anxiety. The trade-offs are clear: acceleration and braking can be abrupt, rear-seat legroom is tight, and the value proposition is questionable for the money.

For shoppers who prioritize efficiency, upscale features, and safety over space or bargain pricing, it makes sense to keep it on your list. 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is presented as a well-engineered SUV that has improved over time, with the latest version described as a blend of style, performance, and efficiency. Its plug-in hybrid setup is framed as a practical way to test EV-style ownership without fully committing to a pure electric vehicle.

The powertrain is described as a strong performer, with the updated setup delivering more power and a more engaging electric motor than before. The driving modes and regenerative braking also support efficient daily use, especially if you plug in regularly and start each day in electric mode.

For ownership, the maintenance and charging routine can work in your favor if you use the plug-in hybrid system as intended, but the vehicle’s premium positioning means long-term costs can still add up. For used buyers, that makes condition and service history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a plug-in hybrid where charging habits and service records matter. Focus on overall condition, how the cabin and tech systems operate, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Core, Plus, Ultimate, and PHEV-only Polestar Engineered, with Bright or Dark exterior themes. The Ultimate package adds upscale touches such as a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, an air suspension, and a premium sound system, while the base setup is less richly equipped.
• Powertrain: The plug-in hybrid uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine, an electric motor, and an 18.8-kWh battery pack. It is described as quick, with an estimated 35 miles of electric driving range and strong combined output.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability, and Oncoming Lane Mitigation can help avoid collisions with oncoming traffic. The Ultimate trim includes all available safety features, while the PHEV’s crash-test status is not assessed in the provided data.
• Infotainment: The XC60 uses a 9-inch portrait-style touchscreen with Google Built-in, four years of Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play access, plus Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM, and Wi-Fi access. A 12-inch digital instrument panel is standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle averaged 54.6 mpg over a 65-mile evaluation route, and a 50.8-mile freeway trip in Charge mode returned 19.7 mpg while adding 20 miles of battery range.

Which 2023 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultimate, and Polestar Engineered.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point if you want the XC60’s style, plug-in hybrid capability, and core tech without stretching into the pricier trims. It makes the most sense if you value the XC60’s overall concept more than extra luxury add-ons.
• Plus: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It should give you more of the XC60 experience without pushing as far into the expensive upper end.
• Ultimate: This is the best-value choice if you want the richest cabin and the most complete feature set. It adds the upscale touches and safety equipment that make the XC60 feel most polished.
• Polestar Engineered: Choose this only if you want the most performance-focused version of the XC60 lineup. The provided data points to a more aggressive character, but it also sits at the top of the range.

The Ultimate trim includes all of the XC60’s available safety features, including Pilot Assist and Oncoming Lane Mitigation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,300 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,972, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $32,972 sits slightly below last year's $36,668.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make the XC60 easier to shop now than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that also means you should expect more price sensitivity from shoppers who are comparing this SUV against other luxury options.

If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it well, you can help protect value. But the current trend shows that premium pricing alone is not enough to guarantee strong resale momentum.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 B5 and B6 earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS, and the XC60 B5 and B6 mild-hybrids earn top marks across the board from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Pilot Assist is Volvo’s most advanced driver-assistance system, combining adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability on the highway. Oncoming Lane Mitigation is also included and can help prevent collisions with oncoming vehicles that stray over the center line.

The Ultimate trim comes with all of the XC60’s available safety features. The plug-in hybrid version’s crash-test status is not assessed in the provided data, so the strongest safety read comes from the XC60 B5 and B6 information.
