The overview emphasizes a strong frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for the Hemi models, which supports the case for durability in demanding use. It also points to a truck designed for serious towing and payload work, so you should expect the usual wear considerations that come with heavy-duty ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is finding a truck that has been worked hard without the maintenance history to match.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 RAM 3500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the truck’s condition, especially if it has been used for towing or hauling. Pay close attention to signs of heavy-duty wear, since capability is the point of this model and that can mean harder use than you might see in a lighter-duty truck. A careful pre-purchase inspection matters most on trucks like this because condition can vary a lot from one listing to the next.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that the truck still commands strong pricing, but the recent softening means you should be realistic about appreciation. Trucks with broad appeal and strong capability tend to hold attention well, especially when they also offer the kind of comfort and technology this one does.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?
