How much does the 2023 Porsche Taycan cost?

Prices have softened 1.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2023 Porsche Taycan a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Porsche Taycan earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It delivers the kind of performance you expect from Porsche, while also being more versatile and affordable than you might assume. The Taycan is also described as fun to drive and comfortable, which makes it appealing if you want an EV that still feels usable every day. The main trade-off is that its range is merely average, so it is less compelling if long-distance efficiency is your top priority.

Good and great deals account for 30.3% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Porsche Taycan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Taycan is presented as a well-built EV with strong materials quality and a solid, premium feel. Its performance character is backed by quick, drama-free acceleration and confident handling, and the expert evaluation notes smooth power delivery and a composed driving experience. The charging system also supports practical ownership, with battery preconditioning helping you get the maximum charge rate more efficiently.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term risk is making sure the battery and charging behavior still match the car’s premium mission, especially if the previous owner relied heavily on fast charging.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Porsche Taycan?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a used EV where battery condition and charging habits matter. Focus on overall condition, charging performance, and whether the car has been maintained in a way that fits its premium hardware and electronics.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Taycan’s multiple body styles broaden its appeal, and the Cross Turismo adds a rear hatch for extra convenience and a more distinctive profile. The Sport Turismo has a lower ride height, so you should think about whether you want the more wagon-like utility or the more traditional sedan feel.
• Powertrain: The base sedan uses a single rear electric motor, while the Taycan 4 adds a front motor for AWD. The larger battery pack is standard on most versions and brings stronger output and better range, so you should compare the driving feel and efficiency you want against the configuration on the car you’re considering.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and front and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitors and a surround-view camera system are part of the optional Premium package, while adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, and remote parking come with the Technology package.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a native navigation system, wireless charging, and a curved digital instrument panel. The main screen is a bit small and sits low enough that it can take some attention away from the road.
• Range & charging: The base sedan is estimated at 208 miles of range, while the larger battery pack can raise that to 242 miles. DC fast charging is standard and can reach up to 270 kW, with charging from five percent to 80 percent in as little as 23 minutes on the larger battery. Home charging on a 220-volt setup takes 10.5 hours from empty to full.
• Battery health: On a used Taycan, you should check battery state-of-health, ask how often the car was charged at home versus on DC fast chargers, and confirm how much of the battery warranty remains. A careful inspection should also verify that charging speeds and thermal management still behave normally.

• Inventory: There are 476 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.27% compared with last year.

What is the 2023 Porsche Taycan's resale value?

The current average of $78,887 sits slightly below last year's $79,900.

That modest decline suggests the Taycan is holding value reasonably well for a premium EV, especially given its performance-focused appeal. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you should have a decent chance of preserving value better than a less distinctive electric sedan. The model’s broad appeal also helps, since it combines Porsche branding with everyday usability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard advanced safety features include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and front and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitors and a surround-view camera system are available with the Premium package, while adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, and remote parking are part of the Technology package. Porsche InnoDrive is also available and combines adaptive cruise control with lane-keep assist for hands-on semi-automated driving.

Should I buy a 2023 Porsche Taycan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as a compelling EV choice because it combines Porsche performance with more versatility and affordability than many buyers expect.

The bottom line: If you want the Taycan’s core mix of performance, comfort, and Porsche character, the 2023 is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, a carefully chosen used example from a nearby year can still make sense, but the 2023 already offers a favorable mix of softened pricing, strong inventory, and high owner satisfaction.
