How much does the 2023 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 5.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,843 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy range of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, safety features, fuel economy, comfortable ride, and modern technology. The Rogue’s use case is especially appealing if you want a compact crossover that feels well equipped for family duty and daily commuting.

The main trade-offs are the CVT’s sometimes loud, underpowered feel and the value-for-money concerns raised by the review team. Even so, the market shows 34.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling package with praise for the spacious interior, safety features, fuel economy, and comfortable ride. The review team also describes the Rogue as secure and consistent in how it behaves, which supports confidence in everyday use.

On the other hand, the CVT’s loudness and occasional lack of power are recurring complaints, so you should pay close attention to drivetrain behavior on a test drive. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is whether the transmission and powertrain feel smooth and well maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Rogue?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a vehicle history report, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, electronics, and interior condition. Because the Rogue’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and technology, make sure the seats, infotainment, and driver-assistance features all work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, SL, and Platinum trim levels, with the SV, SL, and Platinum available with optional Premium packages. The base trim is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add more upscale materials and equipment.
• Powertrain: The Rogue uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with a CVT, and AWD is optional. It is responsive in town, but highway passing power is limited.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, rear automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. ProPilot Assist with Navi-link is available on higher trims.
• Infotainment: The Rogue uses an 8-inch or available 9-inch touchscreen, with wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and available Alexa Built-in on Platinum. OTA capability is not stated.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is described as efficient, and the test vehicle returned 28.9 mpg on an evaluation loop.

Which 2023 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point if you want the Rogue’s core strengths at the lowest price, but you give up the richer equipment and upscale feel found higher up the range.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday appeal, and it can be paired with the Midnight Edition package for a blacked-out look.
• SL: Choose this if you want a more premium-feeling Rogue without going all the way to the top trim, especially if you want access to optional upgrades.
• Platinum: This is the most upscale choice, with the richest cabin treatment and Alexa compatibility, so it suits you if you want the most features and refinement.

Higher trims can also add ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, which broadens the Rogue’s safety and driver-assistance appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Rogue?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,843 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,432, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $21,774 sits slightly below last year's $23,159.

That decline suggests the Rogue has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you buy in at a better price today. For a future seller, the softer trend means you should expect more price sensitivity from shoppers unless your vehicle is especially clean, well equipped, or lightly used.

The current market still shows meaningful demand, so a well-kept Rogue should remain easy to shop competitively. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2023 Nissan Rogue earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it gets four-star ratings for the driver and front passenger in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, rear automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Higher trims can add ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, plus available surround-view camera, lane-keeping assist, active blind-spot monitoring, and a driver monitoring system.

A key caveat is that the Rogue falters in updated IIHS small overlap frontal-impact and side-impact testing, earning Marginal and Acceptable scores, respectively.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds a Midnight Edition package on SV and Alexa compatibility on Platinum.

Consider the 2022 if:

• It brings a more modern mechanical setup and class-leading efficiency.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $20,769, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $21,774 average.
