Used 2023 Mazda CX-30 for Sale nearVirginia Beach, VA

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 3,619 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating, the 2023 Mazda CX-30 lands as a strong pick if you want style and driving enjoyment in a small crossover. The CX-30 pairs an appealing design with a classy, high-quality interior and enjoyable driving dynamics, and the available turbocharged engine adds to its performance-oriented character.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The trade-offs are real: the rear seat is cramped and cargo space is tight, so it works best if you value a premium-feeling cabin and fun-to-drive manners more than maximum practicality.

Good and great deals account for 37.0% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Mazda also updated this model year with improved side-impact collision protection, and the CX-30’s safety-focused setup supports confidence in everyday use.

The available turbocharged engine adds stronger performance, while the standard all-wheel drive and refined road manners reinforce the sense that this is a well-engineered small crossover. The CX-30 also delivers a more powerful base engine this year, which helps the standard powertrain feel more capable than before.

If you plan to keep the vehicle for years, the main ownership risk is that a used example with neglected maintenance or heavy wear could be less satisfying because the cabin and cargo compromises are fixed.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, confirm that the safety systems work as expected, and inspect the cabin and cargo area closely because those are the CX-30’s biggest everyday compromises. Pay extra attention to trim-specific equipment so you know whether the vehicle has the features you want, especially if you’re comparing base and higher trims.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim has cloth seats, while higher trims move to artificial or genuine leather upholstery. The base trim also misses some of the equipment found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5 S uses a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while the 2.5 Turbo adds much stronger output and can make 250 horsepower on premium fuel.
• Safety package: Every CX-30 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam headlights, and E911 emergency notification. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim.
• Infotainment: The system uses an 8.8-inch display, and all CX-30s have Bluetooth, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and connected services with Wi-Fi hotspot access. The system does not use a touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine improves to 29 mpg in combined driving, while the turbocharged version averaged 23.6 mpg on the evaluation drive.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 7 trim levels: base, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Premium Plus, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the CX-30’s core strengths at the lowest price, but it’s also the most stripped-down version and misses some of the nicer comfort and safety upgrades found higher up.
• Select: This is the first step up if you want a better-balanced daily driver without jumping too far in price.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim if you want a more premium feel without moving into the pricier upper trims.
• Carbon Edition: Choose this if you want a more distinctive appearance and a richer feature mix.
• Premium: This is the trim to target if you want a stronger blend of comfort, tech, and safety equipment.
• Premium Plus: This is the most fully equipped non-turbo choice, and it suits you if you want the richest feature set without stepping into turbo pricing.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus: This is the performance and tech flagship, with the strongest acceleration and the most advanced driver-assistance equipment.

The safety package is especially strong overall, but the base trim misses blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when you find a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,619 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,514, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $23,570 sits slightly above last year's $23,381.

That small increase suggests the CX-30 has held its value fairly well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady buyer interest rather than a market that is weakening or overheating.

For you, that means a well-kept example should remain relatively easy to move when it’s time to trade or sell. The strongest resale prospects will likely go to vehicles with desirable equipment, clean history, and the kind of condition that matches the CX-30’s premium positioning.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam headlights, and an E911 emergency notification system. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, and higher trims add an adaptive front lighting system, traffic sign recognition, and a head-up display.

Mazda also improved side-impact crash protection this year with standard rear side airbags and outboard rear seatbelt tensioners. The main caveat is that some of the most useful driver aids are reserved for higher trims, so you should confirm the exact equipment on any used listing.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a more powerful base engine and improved side-impact collision protection.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,341, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,570 average.
• It offers a more upscale feel with refined handling and a premium interior.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $23,303, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $23,570 average.
• It adds Select Sport and Carbon Turbo trims plus wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the sweet spot if you want the CX-30’s updated powertrain, strong safety, and polished driving feel without moving to a newer model year. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the value play; if you want newer tech, the 2024 is worth a look.
