How much does the 2023 Lucid Air cost?

Prices have softened 19.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 366 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air a good car?

The 2023 Lucid Air earns a 7.17/10 expert rating, and the overall picture from the review is that you’re looking at an ambitious luxury EV with real strengths and some early-production rough edges.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The Air’s appeal comes through in its stylish design, spacious interior, and impressive electric range, and it also brings a more traditional luxury-sedan shape to the EV segment. The trade-offs are clear: the in-cabin technology can be buggy, the lane-keeping system is aggravating, and the air conditioning is ineffective on hot days.

For you, that means the Air makes the most sense if you want a premium electric sedan with standout design and long-range capability, and you’re willing to live with some software and usability frustrations. 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air reliable?

The 2023 Lucid Air is presented as an excellent first effort from a new luxury EV brand, but the review also makes it clear that early software and control issues are part of the ownership experience.

The Air’s engineering promise is strong: it’s described as thoughtfully engineered, and the performance notes emphasize a space-saving electric platform built to maximize room and comfort without giving up capability. At the same time, the technology regularly creates confusion and frustration, with slow responses, resets, and inconsistent behavior in the cabin systems.

On the dependability side, the performance write-up points you toward a practical ownership habit: if you buy one, home charging is the safer long-term routine than relying on public fast chargers. The review also notes that Lucid offers complimentary charging for a limited period and that the home charging station is strongly recommended.

For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that you may inherit a car whose hardware is impressive but whose software and charging experience still require patience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lucid Air?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this car’s biggest issues are tied to technology behavior rather than obvious mechanical wear. Focus on how the displays, driver-assistance systems, climate control, and charging functions behave in real use, since those are the areas most likely to affect your day-to-day experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and Sapphire. The Pure made the starting price more approachable, but the test car still showed that options can quickly add complexity and cost.
• Powertrain: The Air can be configured with dual-motor AWD, and the review notes that higher-output versions can deliver very strong acceleration and range. The tested Pure Dual Motor AWD setup produced 480 hp and 384 miles of maximum range.
• Safety package: DreamDrive is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection with automatic braking, distracted and drowsy driver alert, traffic sign recognition, parking sensors, and semi-autonomous parking assist. DreamDrive Premium adds a surround-view camera system and blind-spot cameras, while DreamDrive Pro adds Highway Assist.
• Infotainment: The Air uses a 34-inch Glass Cockpit display with 5K resolution and a 12.3-inch Pilot Panel. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay, OTA updates, and Amazon Alexa compatibility, but the review also notes buggy behavior and occasional slow responses.
• Range & charging: The tested Pure Dual Motor AWD had 384 miles of maximum range and a 200 kW maximum charging rate, with Lucid saying it can add 200 miles in around 15 minutes. The review also points to the Lucid Connected Home Charging Station as the better ownership solution.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car has been charged over time, and review how much battery warranty coverage remains. A car that has spent more time on home charging than repeated DC fast charging is generally the safer bet for long-term peace of mind.

Which 2023 Lucid Air trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lucid Air is offered in 4 trim levels: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and Sapphire.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the trim that makes the Air’s starting price more approachable, and it’s the one that best fits you if you want the Lucid experience without chasing the highest sticker price. It still gives you the core Air design, space, and range story, but the review shows that options can quickly push the price up.
• Touring: This is the step-up choice if you want more equipment and a more upscale feel than the Pure without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It should suit you if you want a better-balanced luxury EV purchase.
• Grand Touring: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest blend of luxury, range, and performance without going to the extreme of the Sapphire. It’s the trim to target if you want the Air at its most broadly appealing.
• Sapphire: This is the halo model, and it’s for you if you want the most exclusive, highest-priced version of the Air. It sits in a different price bracket than the rest of the lineup.

DreamDrive is standard, while DreamDrive Premium and DreamDrive Pro are available if you want more advanced camera and highway-assist capability.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lucid Air?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find meaningful value.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 366 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,935, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lucid Air's resale value?

The current average of $39,935 sits slightly below last year's $49,906.

That drop suggests the Air has moved into a more buyer-friendly pricing zone, which can help you if you’re shopping used now. For a future seller, though, it means you should expect resale values to remain sensitive to mileage, condition, and how well the car’s technology has aged.

Because the Air is still a newer luxury EV from a young brand, strong presentation matters. A well-kept example with clean history and working tech should hold up better than one with visible wear or software-related frustrations.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air safe?

The Lucid Air earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Lucid says the Air’s advanced driver-assistance systems are powered by up to 32 sensors, and the standard DreamDrive package includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection with automatic braking, distracted and drowsy driver alert, traffic sign recognition, parking sensors, and semi-autonomous parking assist.

DreamDrive Premium adds a surround-view camera system and blind-spot cameras, while DreamDrive Pro adds Highway Assist with lane-centering assist. The review also notes that Highway Assist can work well in some situations, but the lane-keeping and lane-centering behavior can be unsettling and inconsistent.

Should I buy a 2023 Lucid Air or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.98% compared with last year.
• It’s the first year with the more affordable Pure trim, which broadens the lineup and improves value.

Consider the 2024 if:

• It adds a Sapphire trim and brings major price changes.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because pricing has softened and the Pure trim opens the door to the lineup. If you’re willing to spend more for the latest changes and a broader range of trims, the 2024 is the better path.
