How much does the 2023 Lucid Air cost?

Prices have softened 18.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 384 listings available, which gives you a modest pool to compare trims and equipment.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air a good car?

The 2023 Lucid Air earns a 7.17/10 expert rating, and its strongest category score is Look and feel at 10/10.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

It stands out as a stylish, spacious electric luxury sedan with impressive range, and it feels distinctive because it keeps a more traditional luxury-car shape instead of chasing a crossover profile. That makes it a strong fit if you want a premium EV that emphasizes design, room, and long-distance usability.

The trade-offs are clear: the in-cabin technology can be buggy, and the lane-keeping system can be aggravating. The air conditioning is also ineffective on hot days, which matters if you live in a warm climate.

With 45.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air reliable?

The 2023 Lucid Air is presented as an ambitious first effort from a new luxury EV brand, and it comes across as thoughtfully engineered even while its technology still needs refinement.

Its electric-drive setup is described as space-saving and engineered to maximize interior room and passenger comfort without sacrificing power or capability. The car also benefits from over-the-air updates, which gives you a path for software improvements over time.

On the ownership side, Lucid says the Air can be paired with a home charging station, and the brand also offers complimentary charging through Electrify America for a limited period. That said, the public-charging experience described here is inconsistent, so home charging is the safer long-term plan.

For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that software and driver-assistance behavior may still be evolving, so you should expect to evaluate the car carefully before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lucid Air?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a car with lots of software-related complaints in its history. Focus on how the cabin electronics behave, whether the climate system cools properly, and whether the driver-assistance features operate smoothly rather than abruptly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and Sapphire. The Pure is the most accessible entry point, while the higher trims add more equipment and capability; the base trim can be the best value if you want the Lucid experience without chasing the most expensive hardware.
• Powertrain: The Air can be configured with dual-motor AWD, and the broader lineup can deliver very high output, strong efficiency, and rapid acceleration. The test car’s dual-motor setup delivered 480 hp, 384 miles of maximum range, 121 MPGe, and 200 kW of maximum recharging capacity.
• Safety package: DreamDrive is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection with automatic braking, distracted and drowsy driver alert, traffic sign recognition, parking sensors, and semi-autonomous parking assist. DreamDrive Premium adds a surround-view camera system and blind-spot cameras, while DreamDrive Pro adds Highway Assist.
• Infotainment: The Air uses a 34-inch Glass Cockpit display with 5K resolution, plus a 12.3-inch Pilot Panel touchscreen. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay, OTA updates, and Amazon Alexa compatibility, and Android Auto is coming soon through an over-the-air update.
• Range & charging: The test car delivered 384 miles of maximum range, and Lucid says the lineup can reach up to 516 miles depending on version. The Air Pure Dual Motor AWD can add 200 miles of range in around 15 minutes on a 200 kW charger, and the home charging station can provide up to 19.2 kW.
• Battery health: For a used EV, you should verify battery state-of-health, ask how the car was typically charged, and confirm whether it spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. You should also check how much battery warranty coverage remains and make sure charging behavior matches the seller’s claims.

Which 2023 Lucid Air trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lucid Air is offered in 4 trim levels: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and Sapphire.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the trim to target if you want the most approachable entry into the Air lineup. It brings the core Lucid experience at the lowest price point, and it makes the most sense if you care most about range, design, and value rather than chasing the most expensive hardware.
• Touring: This is the step-up choice if you want a more upscale balance of equipment and capability without jumping all the way to the upper end of the lineup. It should suit you if you want a richer feature set but still want to stay below the flagship trims.
• Grand Touring: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest blend of luxury, range, and performance without paying Sapphire money. It’s the trim to focus on if you want the Air at its most well-rounded.
• Sapphire: This is the halo trim for buyers who want the most extreme version of the Air. It sits at the top of the lineup and is the one to choose if you want the most exclusive, highest-performance expression of the car.

DreamDrive is standard, while DreamDrive Premium and DreamDrive Pro are available upgrades.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lucid Air?

The market looks favorable if you’re shopping carefully, with meaningful deal availability and a strong share of accident-free listings.

• Deal availability: 45.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 384 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,595, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lucid Air's resale value?

The current average of $40,595 sits slightly below last year's $49,868.

That drop suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can help you get into the car at a more attractive price today. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car’s technology ages.

Because the price has already softened, a clean, well-kept example may hold up better than a neglected one. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned when it’s time to trade or sell.

Is the 2023 Lucid Air safe?

The 2023 Lucid Air earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

DreamDrive is the standard safety and driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection with automatic braking, distracted and drowsy driver alert, traffic sign recognition, parking sensors, and semi-autonomous parking assist. DreamDrive Premium adds a surround-view camera system and blind-spot cameras, while DreamDrive Pro adds Highway Assist.

The caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centering behavior can be unsettling, and the system can resist driver input in ways that make it harder to override than you’d expect. That means you should test the driver-assistance features carefully on your own route before you rely on them.

Should I buy a 2023 Lucid Air or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 45.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.59% compared with last year.
• It’s the first year with the more affordable Pure trim, which broadens the lineup and improves value.

Consider the 2024 if:

• It adds a new Sapphire trim and brings major price changes.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because pricing has softened and the lineup is already broad. If you’re willing to spend more for the newest version and its expanded top-end performance, the 2024 is the path to consider.
