Is the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an expert score of 6.83/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The 2023 Range Rover Sport is aimed at you if you want a luxury SUV that looks upscale, feels special, and can handle serious off-road use. Its stylish design and powerful engine help it stand out, and its off-road capability is one of its strongest traits.

The trade-offs are clear: handling is underwhelming, the back seat is cramped, and the technology can be frustrating. If you care most about image, capability, and a premium cabin, it fits well; if you want the sharpest on-road dynamics, it is not the strongest choice.

Good and great deals account for 39.6% of listings, which suggests there are still some worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Range Rover Sport is built around a mix of refinement, comfort, and capability, and its off-road hardware and standard all-wheel-drive setup support that mission. The powertrain lineup also includes a turbocharged inline-six with mild-hybrid technology and an available plug-in hybrid, giving you multiple ways to match performance with efficiency.

The SUV’s engineering focus on durability and capability should appeal if you plan to use it as intended, but long-term ownership risk still depends heavily on maintenance history and how the vehicle was driven and cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with off-road use. Pay close attention to cabin condition, suspension behavior, and whether the technology works smoothly, since those are the kinds of areas that can affect day-to-day ownership satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE P360, SE Dynamic P400, and Autobiography P440e each bring different equipment levels, and the base SE P360 is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about richer features. The SE Dynamic P400 adds more power and was shown with upgrades such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a Cold Climate Pack, a Technology Pack, and a full-size spare tire. The Autobiography P440e is the plug-in hybrid choice and is the most advanced of the group.
• Powertrain: You can choose a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with mild-hybrid technology or a plug-in hybrid setup. The SE P360 makes 355 hp and 369 lb-ft, the SE Dynamic P400 makes 395 hp and 406 lb-ft, and the Autobiography P440e makes 434 hp and 406 lb-ft with an estimated 51 miles of electric driving range.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system with ClearSight Ground View. Wade Sensing is standard, too, and Remote Park Assist is available.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 13.7-inch digital instrumentation display and a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with haptic feedback. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Amazon Alexa compatibility, SiriusXM satellite radio, and connected services. The system can be frustrating to use, so make sure you test it thoroughly.

Which 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 3 trim levels: SE P360, SE Dynamic P400, and Autobiography P440e.

Here's the short version:

• SE P360: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Range Rover Sport experience at the lowest price, but it is also the trim most likely to feel light on extras if you want a more luxurious or better-equipped SUV.
• SE Dynamic P400: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds more power and can be equipped with meaningful comfort and convenience upgrades, including heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a Cold Climate Pack, a Technology Pack, and a full-size spare tire.
• Autobiography P440e: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid powertrain and the longest electric-driving capability in the lineup. It is the most advanced and efficiency-focused version, but it also sits at the top of the range.

Standard safety equipment is broad across the lineup, and Remote Park Assist is available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,214 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $62,400, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $62,400 sits slightly below last year's $71,981.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit how much value you recover later if you sell soon. For a future seller, the current pricing trend means you should expect a softer resale environment than last year’s market.

Even so, a well-kept example with strong equipment and desirable trim content should still attract attention from shoppers who want luxury styling and real off-road ability. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport safe?

The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Land Rover installs a broad suite of driver-assistance features, including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system with ClearSight Ground View.

Wade Sensing is standard, and Remote Park Assist is available. The adaptive cruise control with steering assist is less convincing, though, because it can respond slowly and the steering assist can feel difficult to trust in curves.

Should I buy a 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model stands out for its stylish design, powerful engine, and excellent off-road capability, even if its on-road handling and tech are less impressive.

The bottom line: The 2023 Range Rover Sport makes the most sense if you want this model’s style, capability, and luxury presence at a lower price than last year’s market. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can use the softer pricing to your advantage and focus on well-kept examples with strong equipment and clean history.
