Yes — the 2023 Kia Telluride earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfort, technology, and upscale feel, and many say it feels more luxurious than its price suggests. The Telluride is also described as having extensive features and a smooth ride, which fits its role as a family-size SUV that still feels polished. On the downside, the expert review notes some interior materials feel cheap, and owners mention the manual third-row seating and steering wheel could be improved.

With its three-row layout and family-focused mission, it makes the most sense if you want a roomy SUV that balances style, comfort, and tech. The market also shows 40.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign for shoppers.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that feels comfortable, upscale, and well equipped, with many drivers highlighting the smooth ride and feature-rich cabin. For long-term ownership, your main risk is less about broad reliability concerns and more about finding a well-kept example with no hidden wear or neglected maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same as problem-free listings. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the interior, electronics, and seating functions, since the Telluride’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and tech. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition, especially if you’re comparing higher-mileage examples against cleaner, lower-mileage ones.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup adds visual and capability-focused differences as you move up, with the X-Line bringing a raised suspension, unique grille, raised roof rails, body-color door handles, and black 20-inch wheels, while the X-Pro adds exclusive 18-inch wheels and all-terrain tires. The base trim is more straightforward, while higher trims add more upscale equipment and more advanced driver-assistance features.
• Powertrain: The Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. AWD is available, and the system includes a low-speed Lock setting for tougher conditions.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, Safe Exit Assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert. Highway Drive Assist 2.0 is standard starting with SX trim.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, Kia Connect services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, OTA updates, and Bluetooth support for two devices. Wireless smartphone charging, digital key, and a Full Display Mirror are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD model should return 21 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 24.1 mpg in the X-Line and 20.4 mpg in the X-Pro.

Which 2023 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Telluride’s core strengths without the higher-trim extras. It makes sense if you want the most affordable path into the model and are comfortable skipping some of the more advanced convenience and driver-assistance upgrades.
• S: This trim is the logical step up if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It should suit you if you want more features than the LX without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• EX: This is a strong middle-ground choice if you want a more upscale feel and access to the X-Line package. It’s a good fit if you want a well-equipped family SUV with added style and capability options.
• SX: This is the best-value trim if you want the richer safety and tech content, including Highway Drive Assist 2.0 and the additional collision-avoidance features that come with this trim. It also unlocks the X-Pro package, so it’s the trim to target if you want the most capability-focused version.
• SX Prestige: This is the most luxurious route in the lineup, and it’s the one to choose if you want the most premium presentation and the broadest feature set. It also pairs with both X-Line and X-Pro packages for buyers who want top-end equipment with a more rugged look.

Safety-package note: Highway Drive Assist 2.0 is standard starting with SX trim, and the extra collision-avoidance and parking features also begin there.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

It looks like a buyer’s market, with solid deal availability and a healthy supply of listings.

• Deal availability: 40.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,083 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,115, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $32,115 sits slightly below last year's $35,716.

That decline suggests the market has cooled from a year ago, which can help you buy more affordably now. For a future seller, the current pricing trend means you should expect some depreciation pressure if you buy at today’s average and try to resell soon. The Telluride’s broad appeal and strong feature set should help support demand, but the market is still pricing it below last year’s level.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2023 Kia Telluride was not rated in the crash-test material available here.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia makes a long list of safety features standard, including forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, Safe Exit Assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert. Highway Drive Assist 2.0 adds Lane Change Assist and becomes standard starting with SX trim.

The main safety-related trim gap is that the more advanced Highway Drive Assist 2.0 and the added collision-avoidance and parking features are reserved for SX and above. That means lower trims still get a strong standard safety suite, but the upper trims bring the most advanced assistance tech.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds minor styling changes, new technology, and X-Line/X-Pro trims with more off-road-oriented character.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,701, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $32,115 average.
• It adds more standard equipment and strong value.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $35,779, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $32,115 average.
• It adds minor detail updates and standard amber running lights.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, features, and current-market availability, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better value play. If you want the newest nearby version and don’t mind paying more, the 2024 is the cleaner upgrade path.
