How much does the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L cost?

Prices have softened 11.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,363 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an expert rating of 7.00/10. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Form and function.

The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L is built for you if you want a larger, more spacious full-size SUV with extra room for passengers and cargo. It adds an extra foot of length, more wheelbase, longer rear doors, and a 35-percent increase in cargo capacity behind the third row, so the appeal is straightforward if space is your priority. In testing, it comes across as powerful and comfortable, with plenty of cargo space to match its size.

The trade-offs are just as clear: significant turbo lag can blunt response, the voice recognition system is disappointing, and Active Drive Assist is unavailable.

39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L is presented as a quiet, refined full-size SUV with a strong emphasis on comfort and capability. Its twin-turbo inline-six is described as smooth and quiet, and Jeep also highlights noise, vibration, and harshness improvements along with standard acoustic windshield and front door glass. That combination points to a vehicle designed to feel substantial and polished over long drives.

Jeep also includes five years of complimentary scheduled oil changes and tire rotations, which helps reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a complex, heavily equipped full-size SUV can become expensive if prior maintenance or condition has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of the drivetrain, electronics, and interior condition, since this is a large, feature-rich SUV. Pay close attention to how the powertrain responds in normal driving, whether the cabin tech works cleanly, and whether the vehicle shows signs of heavy use or deferred maintenance. Because the Wagoneer L is built around extra space and added equipment, condition matters a lot when you’re comparing listings.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Wagoneer L is offered in base, Series II, and Series III trim levels. The base version is the entry point, while Series II adds more driver-assistance content and Series III sits above it for shoppers who want more equipment.
• Powertrain: The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine makes 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque, and Jeep says it improves fuel efficiency versus the outgoing V8 while still delivering strong towing capability.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking. Series II adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Active Lane Management, while additional upgrades include automatic high-beam headlights, a surround-view camera system, semi-autonomous parking assistance, and Intersection Collision Assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging on Series II and up, and over-the-air-connected services through the system’s broader feature set.
• Fuel efficiency: Jeep says the Hurricane engine should return 20 mpg in combined driving with 2WD and 19 mpg with 4WD.

Which 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L is offered in 3 trim levels: base, Series II, Series III.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the Wagoneer L’s extra space and strong standard powertrain without moving up the price ladder. It gives you the core full-size SUV experience, but you’ll miss some of the added driver-assistance and convenience content found higher up.
• Series II: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Active Lane Management, along with other useful upgrades. If you want the sweet spot between equipment and price, this is the one to focus on.
• Series III: Choose this if you want the most content and are willing to pay for it. It’s the top trim in the lineup and is aimed at buyers who want the most fully equipped Wagoneer L.

For safety-minded shoppers, Series II is the trim where the added driver-assistance features begin to meaningfully expand the standard package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,363 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,035, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L's resale value?

The current average of $36,037 sits slightly below last year's $40,815.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale if you plan to sell soon. For a future owner, the key question is whether the vehicle’s strong space, comfort, and equipment help it hold demand in the used market. A well-kept example with desirable features should remain easier to move than one with visible wear or missing equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L safe?

The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with a solid standard safety suite that includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking. On Series II, you also get adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Active Lane Management, which adds lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assistance.

Additional safety-related upgrades include automatic high-beam headlights, a surround-view camera system, semi-autonomous parking assistance, and Intersection Collision Assist. One important caveat is that Active Drive Assist is unavailable on the Wagoneer L, so if you want more advanced hands-free-style capability, you’ll need to look elsewhere in the lineup.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model brings the new twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six, extra length, and more cargo room behind the third row.

The bottom line: If you want the extra space, the newer powertrain, and a used-market price that has already softened, the 2023 is the right path to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, keep shopping carefully and compare listings closely, because the market still has enough inventory to reward patience.
