About 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Plug-In
The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) has all the refinement and functionality of the popular Santa Fe, with the added efficiency of a hybrid powertrain with some electric range. ## What’s New for the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Plug-In The Santa Fe PHEV was introduced for the 2021 model year. It carries over from the 2022 model with minimal changes. ## Design To the naked eye, the PHEV is nearly identical to the [__conventionally powered__](https://www.cargurus.com/research/2023-Hyundai-Santa-Fe-c32450) and [__non-plug-in hybrid__](https://www.cargurus.com/research/2023-Hyundai-Santa-Fe-Hybrid-c32680) Santa Fe models (both covered separately). It’s offered in SEL Convenience and Limited trims. Both come with 19-inch alloy wheels. ## Powertrain The Santa Fe PHEV uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, working with an electric motor to put out a combined 261 horsepower and 224 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a six-speed automatic transmission to standard all-wheel drive (AWD). This setup has an electric range of 31 miles, and it can be recharged in about 3.5 hours using a Level 2 charger or 6.5 hours using a traditional wall outlet. The Santa Fe PHEV earns an estimated 76 MPGe, or miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent. This is how the EPA calculates fuel economy factoring in electric range. Once that range is exhausted, the PHEV returns a combined 33 mpg. ## Interior With the rear seats folded, the Santa Fe PHEV has up to 72.1 cubic feet of cargo space. With the rear seats in use, it provides 36.4 cubic feet. These figures are the same as the hybrid and non-hybrid versions. A hands-free power lift gate is standard equipment. The SEL Convenience trim comes well equipped and includes features such as an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and remote keyless entry. The Limited trim adds full leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. ## Technology The 2023 Santa Fe PHEV comes with four USB ports, a fully digital instrument panel, wireless device charging, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moving up to the Limited trim adds a 12-speaker Harman Kardon premium stereo system. ## Safety A generous list of driver-assistance features is provided on the 2023 Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid, including forward collision avoidance, cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, driver-attention monitoring, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Limited trim adds a 360-degree parking camera system and a helpful blind-spot camera system. Both trims come with Safe Exit Assist, which alerts occupants to oncoming vehicles before exiting while parallel parked. ## Pricing At the time of this writing, the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid has a base MSRP of $42,110. The Limited starts at $47,370. The Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid is backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
