Is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz reliable?

The review summary also points to a smooth ride and a vehicle that owners feel good about living with over time, which supports confidence in day-to-day dependability. Some buyers do note concerns about certain electronic features and payload limits, so a careful inspection matters. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the truck’s condition matches its reputation before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean. Because owners mention concerns about certain electronic features and payload capacity, it’s smart to make sure the truck’s condition fits how you plan to use it.

This is a moderate market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay selective.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $24,724, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The current average of $24,724 sits slightly below last year's $26,090.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and how well the truck is equipped. A clean history and strong presentation should matter more when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,333, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $24,724 average.
• It offers a distinctive, car-like compact pickup feel.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $26,559, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $24,724 average.
• It adds a few updates while keeping the same quirky, utility-focused formula.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want a strong mix of price, satisfaction, and available inventory. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better value path; if you want to pay more for a newer model-year option, the 2024 is the alternative to compare.
