CarGurus Analysis: 2023 Honda Accord
overall

Summary
With 4,397 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,399, 32.5% of 2023 Honda Accords for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Honda Accord 3.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.67 / 10.
81.6% of 2023 Accord models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2023 Honda Accord stands out as a redesigned version of Honda’s long-running family sedan, and the test-drive verdict is that Honda made a great car even better. It keeps the traditional four-door formula focused on driving enjoyment and everyday usefulness, with a fun-to-drive character, a spacious interior, and great safety ratings. For buyers who want a sedan that feels polished and practical rather than flashy, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
At the same time, the 2023 Accord is not trying to be everything to everyone. It does not have all-wheel drive, a third-row seat, or a big cargo area you can pack to the roof, and its styling does not suggest an adventurous lifestyle. The result is an excellent sedan for shoppers who value the basics done well, though it is also described as comparatively expensive and as having several minor comfort issues, so its value proposition is not its strongest trait.

How much does the 2023 Honda Accord cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $24,402 |
| Year-Round Low | $23,575 |
| Year-Round High | $25,005 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $25,005 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.41% |
Prices have softened 2.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 4,419 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2023 Honda Accord a good car?
With a 3.5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating, the 2023 Accord looks like a strong sedan that still asks you to accept a few compromises. It stands out as a redesigned family car that keeps the focus on driving enjoyment and everyday usefulness, with a fun-to-drive character, a spacious interior, and great safety ratings.
The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.
The trade-offs are clear: all-wheel drive is not available, several minor comfort issues are noted, and the value proposition is not its strongest trait. Even so, if you want a polished, practical four-door sedan rather than something flashy, it fits that use case well.
Only 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than deeply discounted.
Is the 2023 Honda Accord reliable?
The 2023 Accord is presented as a robust, well-sorted sedan that feels composed in everyday driving. The structure is described as solid, the suspension filters out harshness well, and the powertrain is adequate for normal use.
Honda’s 1.5-liter turbocharged setup is described as refined, and the car is easy to drive in urban and suburban environments. The automatic engine start/stop system is standard, and the Accord’s overall tuning emphasizes smooth, predictable operation.
Honda also includes two years or 24,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance on new vehicles, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is still a comparatively expensive sedan, so you’ll want to be sure the condition and price justify the premium.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda Accord?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how the car was maintained or repaired. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the tires, brakes, and cabin comfort items, since the test drive notes mention minor comfort issues and tire grip as a weak link. It also makes sense to confirm that the car’s equipment matches the trim and option package you expect.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LX and step-up EX are the gas-only variants, while the EX gets a more appealing cabin presentation with cloth seats, contrast stitching, metal mesh dashboard trim, and an eight-speaker audio system. The EX is the better-value choice if you want a nicer-feeling interior without moving up the lineup.
- Powertrain: The LX and EX use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. The engine is adequate rather than quick, and the CVT can drone under hard acceleration.
- Safety package: Every 2023 Accord has Honda Sensing, including adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a reversing camera with three views, automatic high-beam headlights, traffic sign recognition, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on the EX through an affordable option package.
- Infotainment: The car comes with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen, plus Bluetooth, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, text-messaging support, HondaLink connected services, Wi-Fi access, and an SOS emergency call button. The screens are not especially large, but the system is straightforward.
- Fuel efficiency: The LX and EX are rated at 32 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2023 Honda Accord trim should I buy?
The 2023 Honda Accord is offered in 2 trim levels: LX and EX.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Accord formula with the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine, Honda Sensing, and the standard digital display and touchscreen setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is the more basic choice.
- EX: This is the better-value trim because it adds a more appealing interior, an eight-speaker audio system, and the option to add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. If you want the most balanced used-buying choice, this is the one to target.
Every 2023 Accord includes Honda Sensing, and the EX can be equipped with an affordable safety package that adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda Accord?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully but not so much discounting that you should expect a bargain everywhere.
- Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 4,419 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.41% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 81.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $23,575, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Honda Accord's resale value?
The current average of $24,402 sits slightly below last year's $25,005.
That price movement suggests the Accord has softened enough to create a more approachable entry point for used buyers. For a future seller, that also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim rather than assuming the model will hold a premium automatically.
Because the market has moved down, a clean, well-equipped example should still be easier to justify than one with visible wear or a weak service history. If you buy carefully now, you reduce the chance of taking a bigger hit later when you resell.
Is the 2023 Honda Accord safe?
The 2023 Honda Accord earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Every 2023 Accord has Honda Sensing, which includes adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a reversing camera with three views, automatic high-beam headlights, traffic sign recognition, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on the EX through an option package.
The safety system is generally well regarded for its accuracy and refinement, though lane-centering can waver a bit in some situations and curve handling can introduce some uncertainty. Even so, the Accord’s safety package is a major strength.
Should I buy a 2023 Honda Accord or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.41% compared with last year.
- It gives you a redesigned Accord with a fun-to-drive character, a spacious interior, and great safety ratings.
The bottom line: The 2023 Accord is the right pick if you want the redesigned version and value its blend of practicality, safety, and driving enjoyment. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to shop carefully for the best-condition example rather than paying up for a marginally nicer one, since this model is described as comparatively expensive.
