How much does the 2023 Genesis GV80 cost?

Prices have softened 13.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,188 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Genesis GV80 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, smooth ride, and strong performance. They also point to the advanced safety features and the value it offers compared with German rivals.

The trade-offs are a learning curve for the controls and tech, plus a few practical compromises noted by experts. In context, this is a midsize luxury SUV aimed at shoppers who want premium style and equipment without paying the usual premium-brand price.

Good and great deals account for 37.8% of listings, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free feel, with strong confidence in the vehicle over the long term. Expert notes reinforce that impression by highlighting Genesis’s generous warranty coverage and complimentary scheduled maintenance.

That said, long-term ownership risk still depends on how well the vehicle was maintained and whether any prior damage or neglect is hiding in the history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics, driver-assistance systems, and overall wear, since the GV80’s tech-heavy setup can be a learning curve. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the vehicle’s features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The available packages change the GV80’s equipment level, and the Prestige trim adds 22-inch alloy wheels. The base setup already looks upscale, but you should compare feature content carefully if you want the most value.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a turbo 3.5-liter V6, both paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD. The smaller engine makes 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, while the V6 makes 375 hp and 391 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist and follow, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. Highway Drive Assist adds hands-on highway support, automatic lane changes with signaling, and speed adjustment for curves and speed limits.
• Infotainment: All trims get a 14.5-inch touchscreen, and the tester also had a 12.3-inch 3D digital gauge cluster and head-up display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, but neither is wireless.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates it at 18 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. Over 330 miles of driving, the test vehicle averaged 21.5 mpg.

Which 2023 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Genesis GV80 is offered in 3 trim levels: Standard, Advanced, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the value play if you want the GV80’s core strengths — standard AWD, the 14.5-inch touchscreen, and the upscale design — without paying for extras you may not need.
• Advanced: This is the best-value trim if you want a stronger mix of luxury and convenience features while staying below the top-end price.
• Prestige: This is the most fully equipped choice, and it adds standout touches like 22-inch alloy wheels for shoppers who want the richest presentation.

Safety equipment is generous across the lineup, but the available driver-assistance features and trim content are worth comparing closely before you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Genesis GV80?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,188 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.18% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,037, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $39,037 sits slightly below last year's $44,962.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale returns if you buy near the top of the range. If you plan to sell later, the strongest protection comes from choosing a clean, well-kept example with desirable equipment and a strong service history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2023 Genesis GV80 earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, including five-star ratings in side crash and four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover. It also received a Good rating from IIHS for crashworthiness and Superior for front crash prevention involving cars and pedestrians.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist and follow, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. Genesis also adds a blind-spot camera view in the gauge cluster and Highway Drive Assist for hands-on highway support.

One caveat is that Highway Drive Assist can struggle when the sun is directly ahead, and IIHS rated the headlights and LATCH system Acceptable.

Should I buy a 2023 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong value, standard AWD, and a rich feature set.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $45,245, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $39,037 average.
• It adds a fresher take on the same stylish, tech-forward luxury SUV.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because it delivers the GV80’s core strengths at a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2024 is the secondary path, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2023’s softer market and stronger deal availability.
