How much does the 2023 Genesis GV80 cost?

Prices have softened 14.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,161 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Genesis GV80 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, smooth ride, and impressive performance. They also highlight the advanced safety features and the value it offers compared with German competitors.

The trade-offs are a learning curve for the controls and tech features, plus a few usability frustrations noted by experts. In practical terms, you’re looking at a midsize luxury SUV that prioritizes style, comfort, and equipment value over sporty driving dynamics.

Good and great deals account for 36.3% of listings, which points to a market with some room for negotiation.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many owners emphasizing the GV80’s long-term appeal and the confidence it inspires. The expert evaluation also describes it as a vehicle with few true faults, which supports the idea that it should be easy to live with over time.

Genesis backs the GV80 with a strong warranty and complimentary scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright reliability and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same as guaranteed problem-free vehicles. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a luxury SUV with a lot of technology and driver-assistance equipment. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment usability, and whether all the convenience and safety features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Standard, Advanced, and Prestige packages give you a clear ladder of equipment, and the Prestige trim adds 22-inch alloy wheels. The base setup is already well equipped, but higher trims are where you’ll find the richer luxury touches.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a turbo 3.5-liter V6, and all-wheel drive is standard. The smaller engine makes 300 horsepower, while the larger one is the stronger choice if you want more punch.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist and follow, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. Highway Drive Assist adds hands-on/eyes-up assistance, lane changes with signaling, and speed adjustment for curves and speed changes.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen, and the system can be paired with a 12.3-inch 3D digital gauge cluster and head-up display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, but neither is wireless.
• Fuel efficiency: The GV80 returns 18 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined, and real-world driving averaged 21.5 mpg.

Which 2023 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Genesis GV80 is offered in 3 trim levels: Standard, Advanced, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the best-value starting point if you want the GV80’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. You still get the standard all-wheel-drive setup, the 14.5-inch touchscreen, and the strong safety equipment that helps define the model.
• Advanced: This is the trim to consider if you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping all the way to the top. It should suit you if you want more equipment while still keeping the GV80’s value advantage intact.
• Prestige: This is the most upscale choice, and it’s the one to pick if you want the fullest expression of the GV80’s luxury and tech. It adds the most visual presence, including 22-inch alloy wheels, and is the right fit if you want the richest-feeling version.

Safety content points to a broad standard driver-assistance suite, so even lower trims are well covered.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Genesis GV80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,161 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.39% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,643, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $37,643 sits slightly below last year's $43,970.

That price movement suggests the GV80 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the current market average or below it, you may have less downside than a buyer who paid closer to new-car pricing.

The model’s strong value proposition and broad owner satisfaction should help keep demand healthy among used luxury SUV shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2023 Genesis GV80 earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, including five-star side crash ratings and four-star frontal and rollover ratings. It also received a Good rating from IIHS for crashworthiness and Superior for front crash prevention involving cars and pedestrians.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist and follow, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. Highway Drive Assist adds a hands-on/eyes-up layer of support, and the blind-spot camera view in the gauge cluster is a standout feature.

One caveat is that the headlights and LATCH system both received Acceptable ratings, so you should pay attention to those areas when evaluating a used example.

Should I buy a 2023 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the evaluation: it combines strong value, standard AWD, and a broad safety suite.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,057, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $37,643 average.
• It adds a fresher take on the GV80 with more modern styling and a more high-tech interior.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because it already delivers the GV80’s core strengths at a lower price. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year feel, the 2024 is the secondary path to consider.
