About 2023 Ferrari Portofino
The 2023 Ferrari Portofino is a front-engine Ferrari convertible that is meant for stylish cruising but is capable of thrilling performance. ## What’s New for the 2023 Ferrari Portofino The Portofino was introduced for the 2019 model year. It is largely unchanged for the 2023 model year. It is slated to be discontinued, making 2023 the final year of production. ## Design The Ferrari Portofino has a clean design (for a Ferrari), that embodies the notion of classic top-down grand touring. A fantastic feature is the continuation of the vent behind the front wheel as a line through to a smaller vent in front of the front wheel. The convertible is actually a power-retractable hardtop that can deploy or stow in about 15 seconds and works while the car is in motion at speeds up to 28 mph. ## Powertrain The Portofino comes equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine. It makes 612 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission manages power to the rear wheels. This setup allows the luxurious Portofino to sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds on the way to a top speed of 199 mph. EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2024 Ferrari Portofino are 16 mpg city, 23 highway, and 19 combined. As one might imagine, this high-performance powerplant requires premium fuel. The Portofino is positioned as one of the more comfortable-driving Ferraris, but it’s still a Ferrari, and there’s an expectation of pure performance. To reconcile these two personas, the Portofino is optional with magnetorheological (MR) dampers with two modes. This allows for a comfortable driving experience as a default, and a more hardened and responsive feel when called upon. ## Interior The Portofino has a 2+2 seating layout with an emphasis on the front two seats. The rear bucket seats are very small and typically only suitable for small children or for extra storage space if you’ve filled up the 10 cubic feet of trunk space. (Lowering the top significantly cuts into trunk space.) The 18-way power-adjustable seats are available with seating ventilation as well as neck warming for top-down driving well into the colder months. The Portofino also comes equipped with a wind deflector to minimize airflow into the cabin when the top is lowered. ## Technology Ferrari interiors are typically driver-centric, and while the driver certainly has the mastery of controls, the Portofino M’s interior is a bit more democratized thanks to a center 10.2-inch touchscreen. It operates the infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. There’s also an optional digital passenger display. ## Safety Unlike other models in the Ferrari lineup, the Portofino is actually available with a number of modern driver-assistance features. These optional features include blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Outside of those features, the Portofino includes the backup camera and airbags that are required by regulation. ## Pricing At the time of this writing, the 2023 Ferrari Portofino has a base MSRP of around $250,000. The Portofino is backed by a three-year/36,000-mile powertrain warranty.
