CarGurus Analysis: 2023 Chrysler 300
overall

Summary
With 475 currently listed for sale and an average price of $29,238, 27.2% of 2023 Chrysler 300 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Chrysler 300 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 5.83 / 10.
74.1% of 2023 Chrysler 300 listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2023 Chrysler 300 stands out as a large sedan with real muscle-car attitude, and it goes out of production after 19 years with the sound of a V8. Its most distinctive feature is the available 6.4-liter Hemi, which returns to the Chrysler 300 for the first time since 2014 and is offered only in the limited-production 300C model. Chrysler also adds wheel, tire, suspension, and braking upgrades to help the car make the most of that power, along with an active exhaust system that emphasizes the V8’s character.
Even as it nears retirement, the 2023 Chrysler 300 still has appeal for buyers who want style and strong performance in a traditional rear-wheel-drive sedan. The design remains striking, and the car’s value proposition is part of its charm. At the same time, its age shows through in outdated technology, unimpressive safety ratings, and poor fuel economy, so it is best suited to shoppers who prioritize presence and power over the latest features.

The roar of the 6.4L hemi is second to none. I wish the radio had been updated but seeing how this is the last model year, I understand. The ride is comfy and the seats hug you nicely. I get a lot of compliments on this car. You wont be disappointed.

Chyster 300 is roomy, powerful, and very economical. Smooth transmission, but rear wheel drive not good in snow.

The 300 is one of the smoothest accelerating cars I have ever driven and the ride feels like you are gliding down the road. The ZF 8-speed is smooth and reliable. Honestly Dodge and Chrysler is building the best cars they have built since the 60s and 70s. I rented one with over 60,000 miles on it and after that I had to buy one. After over 60,000 miles and being beat as a rental, the 300 didnt have a single rattle or noise in the interior and drove smooth as butter. That impressed me and I feel in love with the car. Get one while you still can.

How much does the 2023 Chrysler 300 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $29,232 |
| Year-Round Low | $27,612 |
| Year-Round High | $30,403 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $30,322 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −3.60% |
Prices have softened 3.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 473 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2023 Chrysler 300 a good car?
Yes — the 2023 Chrysler 300 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.
Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and powerful performance, and they also call out the car’s comfort, style, and strong value for an American sedan. The 300’s large-sedan layout and traditional rear-wheel-drive character fit shoppers who want presence and muscle over the latest tech.
The trade-offs are clear: the cabin technology feels dated, the safety story is weaker than many rivals, and fuel economy is not a strong point. That makes this a better fit if you value style and power in a full-size sedan than if you want a modern all-around family car.
Good and great deals account for 27.3% of listings, so you do have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2023 Chrysler 300 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with owners highlighting its smooth ride, comfort, and strong value over time. The review summary also emphasizes that many shoppers appreciate its durable-feeling character and the confidence that comes with a long-running model.
The expert evaluation reinforces that sense of durability by describing the car as built around proven hardware and a familiar rear-drive layout. It also notes that the 300 has been largely frozen in time in recent years, which can be a plus for consistency but also means you should expect an older design with older systems.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that age-related wear and outdated components may show up sooner than in newer rivals, especially if the car has seen hard use or skipped maintenance.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chrysler 300?
At 74.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with performance-oriented equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car’s age-related wear matches the mileage and asking price.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Touring and Touring L are V6-only, while the 300S can be had with either a V6 or V8 and the 300C adds the limited-production V8 setup with blacked-out styling, 20-inch wheels, premium leather, and a more upscale cabin. If you want the best-value blend of style and equipment, the 300S is the trim to focus on.
- Powertrain: The lineup includes V6 and V8 choices, with the 300C using a 6.4-liter Hemi V8, rear-wheel drive, and an eight-speed automatic. The performance setup adds adaptive damping, Brembo brakes, performance tires, and driving modes that sharpen the car’s responses.
- Safety package: The Safety Tec Plus Group adds forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Many of these features are optional rather than standard on most trims.
- Infotainment: You get an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through a USB data port, plus SiriusXM, Guardian connected services, navigation, traffic reports, voice recognition, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The system is functional, but it feels dated.
- Fuel efficiency: The 300C returns an official EPA rating of 18 mpg in combined driving, and the evaluation loop averaged 17.5 mpg.
Which 2023 Chrysler 300 trim should I buy?
The 2023 Chrysler 300 is offered in 4 trim levels: Touring, Touring L, 300S, and 300C.
Here's the short version:
- Touring: This is the entry point if you want the 300’s size and styling at the lowest price, but it’s also the most basic version of the car. It makes the most sense if you mainly want the look and space and are willing to live with the oldest-feeling equipment.
- Touring L: This trim adds a more upscale feel while staying on the practical side of the lineup. It’s a good choice if you want a nicer daily driver without moving into the more expensive performance-focused versions.
- 300S: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it gives you a stronger mix of style, equipment, and available V8 power without jumping all the way to the limited-production model. If you want the sweet spot in the lineup, this is it.
- 300C: This is the enthusiast pick, with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8, performance hardware, and the most dramatic personality in the range. Choose it if you want the final, most muscular version of the 300 and are willing to pay for it.
Safety features are mostly optional on the lower trims, while the fully loaded 300C gets the most complete equipment set.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chrysler 300?
This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep discounts on every listing.
- Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 473 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.60% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 74.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,612, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Chrysler 300's resale value?
The current average of $29,232 sits slightly below last year's $30,322.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you’re thinking about short-term resale. If you buy well, you may be able to preserve value better than the average seller, but the car’s age, fuel economy, and safety reputation can weigh on future demand.
The strongest resale candidates will likely be cleaner examples with desirable equipment and strong maintenance records. Lower-mileage cars with the right trim and condition should be easier to move later than worn examples with visible wear or accident history.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Chrysler 300 safe?
The Chrysler 300 gets a Marginal rating in the IIHS moderate-overlap frontal-impact test, and the IIHS says its headlight performance is Poor.
It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.
The available Safety Tec Plus Group includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Lane-keeping assist is described as genuinely useful, but most of these features are optional rather than standard on all trims.
That combination means you should not assume a used 300 is well equipped just because it looks upscale. If safety matters most to you, verify exactly which driver-assistance features are installed and pay close attention to the car’s crash-test limitations and headlight performance.
Should I buy a 2023 Chrysler 300 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 74.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.60% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The final-year 300C brings back the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and adds performance hardware that makes this model year especially memorable.
The bottom line: If you want the last and most distinctive version of the Chrysler 300, the 2023 is the one to target, especially if you value the available V8 and the car’s old-school character. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still give you the same basic formula with a lower entry cost, but the 2023 stands out as the most collectible and emotionally appealing choice in the lineup.
