Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is built for buyers who need serious towing and payload capability rather than carlike manners. It offers a wide range of configurations, including regular, extended, and crew cab body styles, plus rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and an available dual-rear-wheel setup for added stability.

Chevrolet also gives you two V8 engines, a towing max of 36,000 pounds, up to 7,290 pounds of payload capacity, and towing-focused tech such as an advanced trailering app and detailed camera views. If your priorities are maximum capability, broad configuration choices, and everyday utility in a heavy-duty pickup, this truck fits that use case well. 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a heavy-duty workhorse with a straightforward mission: handle demanding jobs while still delivering the comfort and utility expected in a modern full-size pickup. Its appeal centers on capability, configuration flexibility, and towing-focused equipment rather than refinement.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck built for serious work may have seen hard use, so condition and maintenance history matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the truck for signs of heavy towing, payload abuse, or uneven wear. Focus on the condition of the drivetrain, suspension, bed, hitch area, and interior controls, since those are the places where hard use tends to show up most clearly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting forever for a perfect deal.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,604 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $51,920, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $51,920 sits slightly below last year's $56,847.

That price movement suggests the truck has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer resale environment than someone who bought earlier. If you plan to own it for a while, the current market gives you a better entry point, though resale value will still depend heavily on condition, configuration, and how hard the truck has been used.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability, broad configuration choices, and a market that has eased a bit on price, the 2023 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2023's current market balance of inventory and condition.
