Used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearEl Paso, TX

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 7.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,834 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is a mixed but compelling choice if you want a modern midsize truck with strong capability and standout tech. It earns 3/5 from users and 6.5/10 from experts.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It focuses on the basics many truck buyers care about most, including a crew-cab, short-bed layout, strong payload and towing numbers, and a design that looks as good as it works. The trade-offs are clear: the forward collision warning system can be aggravating, fuel economy is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap.

If you want a truck that feels practical and up to date, the Colorado fits that brief well, especially if you value capability and modern features over cabin polish. 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is built around a turbocharged four-cylinder setup and a straightforward truck formula, which helps it feel modern and capable. Its powertrain is described as robustly engineered, and the truck’s standard equipment includes the kind of technology and safety features that support everyday use.

The performance content also points to plenty of power from the turbocharged 2.7-liter engine, along with an eight-speed automatic transmission and available 4WD hardware that should suit a range of driving conditions. The cost-effectiveness content adds that the Colorado is fundamentally appealing as a value proposition, though it also warns that fuel economy and the forward collision warning issue can undermine that appeal.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that a frustrating safety system or higher running costs could make the truck less satisfying over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, confirm whether the truck has any prior damage, and prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and safety systems. Pay close attention to how the truck drives and whether the driver-assistance features behave normally, since condition and feature performance matter a lot on this model.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Work Truck trim includes modern instrumentation, infotainment, connectivity, and safety technologies, but the cabin materials are described as cheap, and the WT lacks the purposeful front skid plate found on the Trail Boss. Higher trims add nicer cabins and more body-color treatment, while the off-road-oriented trims bring more capability.
• Powertrain: Every Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. WT and LT trims make 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while Trail Boss and Z71 models get 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet; ZR2 models keep the 310-horsepower rating but increase torque to 430 pound-feet.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets an 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar and Chevrolet connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Digital instrumentation is standard, with an 8-inch display on most trims and an 11-inch display on the ZR2.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trail Boss test truck returned 19 mpg on the official EPA rating and averaged 17 mpg in testing.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the entry point, but it still gets modern instrumentation, infotainment, connectivity, and safety tech. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the redesigned Colorado and can live without the extra polish and capability of the higher trims.
• LT: This is the best-value trim if you want a more balanced everyday truck. It keeps the Colorado’s core tech and adds a more appealing step up from the WT without jumping straight into the more specialized off-road models.
• Trail Boss: This is the right pick if you want a more rugged personality and stronger off-road hardware. It adds a 2-inch suspension lift, all-terrain tires, standard 4WD, and hill descent control, making it a strong choice for buyers who plan to leave pavement often.
• Z71: This trim builds on the off-road theme with standard 4WD and all-terrain tires, while also getting the more powerful engine tune. It suits you if you want capability but don’t need the most extreme hardware.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road version, with a 3-inch lift, mud-terrain tires, exclusive Multimatic DSSV dampers, and the most torque. It’s the one to choose if off-road performance is your priority.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, but optional ADAS features are not included on every truck.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a selective buyer’s market, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,834 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,743, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $33,176 sits slightly below last year's $35,705.

That price movement suggests the Colorado has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers. If you buy at today’s average or below, you may have less downside risk than someone who bought when prices were higher.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value will likely depend heavily on condition, trim, and equipment. Trucks with stronger features and cleaner histories should hold up better than examples that show wear or have a rough ownership record.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The 2023 Colorado earns a three-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. OnStar also adds SOS emergency calling and automatic crash notification, while Teen Driver and Buckle to Drive add family-focused safety tools.

The main caveat is the forward collision warning system, which can be overly sensitive and produce false alerts. That issue is serious enough that it stands out as a major weakness in the truck’s safety experience.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.08% compared with last year.
• The redesign emphasizes modern tech, strong capability, and off-road-oriented trims.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,316, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,176 average.
• It leans more into a modern lifestyle-pickup formula with a more contemporary presence.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the lower average price and a strong mix of capability and technology. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer take on the Colorado formula, the 2024 is the better fit.
