How much does the 2023 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 9.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,066 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Cadillac Escalade earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its luxury feel, elegant design, and comfortable ride, and they also like the stylish interior and the absence of accidents. In practical terms, that lines up with its role as a full-size luxury SUV that emphasizes utility, technology, and presence.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy, cheap-feeling interior materials, and an underwhelming base engine. Even so, if you want a distinctive large SUV with serious cargo space and a strong tech story, the Escalade fits that brief well.

Only 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels luxurious, comfortable, and well-liked over time, and the review summary also highlights the absence of accidents as a positive ownership signal. That kind of satisfaction usually matters most when you’re trying to judge whether a used luxury SUV will feel dependable after the first owner’s honeymoon period.

The expert evaluation also describes it as a fresh, technology-forward full-size SUV that carries its redesign forward with confidence. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you’re comfortable living with its expensive, complex luxury-SUV ownership profile.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any specific listing, because a clean market average does not guarantee a clean individual vehicle. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and the condition of the interior materials, since those are central to the Escalade experience. It also makes sense to focus on how the vehicle feels in everyday use, especially if you plan to carry passengers often.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim uses leatherette upholstery, while higher trims add more upscale leather combinations and richer interior details. The Sport trims darken exterior brightwork, and the Platinum trims bring the fanciest presentation, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to the feature gap.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.2-liter V8 is the main engine, and it can shut off up to six cylinders during gentle cruising. An optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 is also mentioned, and the Escalade-V uses a supercharged Corvette V8 with 682 hp and 653 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional, so you should confirm which systems are actually fitted.
• Infotainment: The cabin features a curved OLED screen layout spanning 38 inches, and the tech suite includes a front camera feed with navigation overlays. Super Cruise is available as an option, and the system uses infrared eye-tracking cameras.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard V8 with 4WD is rated at a combined 16 mpg, while the optional turbodiesel with 4WD is rated at a combined 22 mpg.

Which 2023 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Escalade’s core size, presence, and tech without the richer cabin materials of the higher trims. It makes sense if you want the nameplate and the big-screen experience at the lowest starting point.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the Platinum pricing. If you want the sweet spot between equipment and cost, this is the one to focus on.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This trim leans harder into luxury presentation and is one of the trims that can be paired with the optional air suspension. Choose it if you want a more indulgent Escalade experience.
• Sport: This trim swaps in darker exterior accents and a more aggressive look. It suits you if you care more about appearance than extra luxury flourishes.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most dramatic-looking version in the standard lineup, and it combines the Sport treatment with the richest trim positioning. It’s the pick if you want the most upscale and visually distinctive Escalade short of the V-Series.

The safety package is broad, but several key driver-assistance features remain optional, so verify equipment carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

It looks like a buyer’s market, with meaningful inventory and softer pricing than a year ago.

• Deal availability: 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,066 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $66,778, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $66,778 sits slightly below last year's $73,403.

That price movement suggests the Escalade has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale if you buy at the right number. If you shop carefully now, you may have less downside left than a buyer who paid closer to the prior-year average.

The model’s strong demand is supported by its distinctive styling, big-space appeal, and technology-heavy cabin. Those traits tend to keep it relevant with luxury-SUV shoppers even as the market shifts.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2023 Escalade earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat that vibrates to warn you of possible danger, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional.

One caveat is that reverse emergency braking can stop the vehicle erroneously when backing up, so you should not assume every safety feature will behave perfectly in tight spaces.

Should I buy a 2023 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the redesigned cabin, the 38-inch OLED display, and Super Cruise from the current generation.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $60,177, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $66,778 average.
• It adds standard lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning on the base trim.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market value, tech, and buyer demand, the 2023 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you can live with a slightly older version of the same basic formula, the 2022 is the more price-sensitive path.
